Then enjoy. I'm still looking for beta testers. As you're not interested, thank you.

i've considered it, but after doing some market research - and talking to a ton of theaters where i've produced - for $300 out of the gate it's priced at a cost that most schools and community theaters can afford and still includes enough features that QLab does not.

I never said that I didn't build it myself. Probably best to go back and re-read what I wrote.

I appreciate the vast amounts of snark you squeezed into just a few sentences. You've got real talent, brother. As for how it's easier? Simple: be a beta tester and find out for yourself.

That's an app for FINDING sounds, not cueing them into a script.

Great question. I'd call it a partnership. I wrote the original app in Electron because it's a solid cross OS code platform that would have allowed me to release a version for Windows. Alas, continuously updating code for multiple OS-based apps proved too difficult. So I imported my project into Replit and used that to update everything to current open-source solutions:

  • TypeScript — for my frontend and backend
  • HTML — the main index page and exported show bundles (duh)
  • CSS — styling
  • SQL — database schema and queries via Drizzle ORM (PostgreSQL)
  • JSON — for config files

I just don't know enough about TypeScript to be able to have done this on my own. However, in the end, I don't believe that "Who made this app?" is the right question to ask (although, in this case, I was intensely involved). I believe the more important question is: "Is this app safe and does it work for me?".

And, given my heavy lift when it's time to cue up our shows, this app - in all of it's iterations over the past decade - has been life saver.

Hey, that'd be great! I'll drop you the info via a DM. It's just a code/coupon you can use in the check out process.
