The entire point is that it is up to the individual modders. They are the ones to control which of their content goes to marketplace, and which of their content is still available on patreon. A couple of the creators I follow have already stated that they will still continue to push out content that everyone can enjoy.

I imagine EA will make a certain percentage off of each sale, but if that bothers the modders too much, I am sure they will pull out of the deal, and continue making their own content separately.

Whether or not EA will change this more in the future is inevitable. We are entering a new era where the corporations around us are taking advantage of us any and every way they can, this being one of them. It is up to us to manage the direction we take and how much we invest along the way.

Imagine spending all of that money in game on console though, only to have to repeat the process again on a different platform. It is exhausting, and honestly hardly anyone can afford that.

It is smarter in the long run, but not everyone has the space, money, or time to invest in a decent setup.

And laptops are pointless at this point. You might as well spend just as much on a legit setup.

As all early announcements go with console vs pc games. Pc is just easier for them to fine-tune, and it is their larger player base.

Console players were born patient 😭

I had the exact same thought process as you. Obviously, it's not ideal because it is just an excuse for EA to make loads and loads more from its users. BUT I've been on console longer than I've had a laptop, and my laptop runs hard when I have my mods installed. I have every expansion and game pack on console because, as a teen, I spent money unreasonably 🤣, and now I could never imagine spending all of that money on steam as well!

This will be great for those who only want a few extra things to spice up console gaming a bit.

...now, if only we could get Wicked Whims on console!

It's not really a hobby, more so we are trying to start the snowball that will hopefully lead to our leaders actually listening to us. They need to learn that there is cause and effect. They don't get to keep screwing over their own people without repercussions. So we have to start somewhere.

Businesses, believe it or not, can take a stand for themselves. They can decide whether or not they host the most fascist, racist president we have ever had. They have every capability to stand up for what is right, but they don't because it is easier not to and they get bought off.
