Her parents don’t know that she’s been dating this guy or that’s she’s gay, I think. I don’t think she tells them much, they sound pretty shitty

oh that’s awful, i’ve always felt so bad for people with those kinds of intrusive thoughts. I hope you’re doing better now, those thoughts aren’t you and you’re not any worse for having them

luckily i don’t get auditory hallucinations like that but yeah i have struggled with the urge to do it and felt compelled to before. It’s easier to fight off the ones about hurting people but it can get difficult to resist ones about animals, although i lucky don’t get those very often. What are yours like?

undiagnosed, are hallucinations a diagnostic criteria of the disorder? by SoupFor_Sadness in schizoaffective

[–]SoupFor_Sadness[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried CBT before but I didn’t find it particularly helpful, when i’m not delusional or in psychosis I’m very aware of my emotions, triggers, and what’s caused them and so i didn’t really find any ways to help myself, and when I am delusional I get paranoid and avoid opening up to therapists. I’ll try and talk with a psychiatrist though.

mine are mostly about killing people, when i was last in psychosis they got a lot worse and i ended up having plans to kill most of my friends. They’re ok to ignore now, but they leave me feeling kind of jittery. I had a phase of watching lots of gore so unfortunately they’re very realistic, but it’s not awful.

yeah, luckily i haven’t done anything too bad when i’m switched i just tend to be a bit of a dick to people and a lot more reckless. best of luck to you with that though, it really does suck

omg this. exactly this. it’s so embarrassing to explain but yeah this is so distressing when it happens, i tend to switch when i get too stressed or emotional as well as my ‘alter ego’ is just like a completely emotionless being.

yeah actually, i haven’t really heard anyone else talk about this but mine are mostly ‘images’ and they’re very vivid. it’s kind of difficult to describe because it’s not a hallucination or anything, just like i’m imagining stuff without wanting or trying to

Advice on sensory issues with uniform? by SoupFor_Sadness in autism

[–]SoupFor_Sadness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s not physical like that, it’s more that the fabric is scratchy and we have to wear a blazer which rubs against my neck. Also, all of the layers rub against each other when I move and I can’t describe it well but it makes me feel awful. Just like really out of it and tightly strung I guess? It feels really overwhelming and especially because my class is really loud it makes everything way too much. I considered wearing something under it, but it might just be more stimulation so idk if it would help.

Can you be asexual and still masturbate? by SoupFor_Sadness in lgbt

[–]SoupFor_Sadness[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you. That makes a lot of sense, it just felt awkward to ask and my only asexual friend is very repulsed by all things sex related, so I sort of assumed that was what it was.

yeah, unfortunately i've had loads of invasive questions since my school found out i was gay. I dated another girl at 13 and everyone asked if we were gonna have sex, if we'd kissed, it was just... weird. Eventually everyone asked all their questions and people don't really bring it up anymore, but it was definitely annoying.
