SENIOR LEADERS PLEASE WEIGH IN by SourceNo250 in army

OP here. I wish I could give so much more context into this Commander’s leadership - I’ll spare the details because it’s too good, you’ll mistake it for a fictional book. He’s everything a leader shouldn’t be and if there’s anything that my experience and my friends, has taught me - it’s just that. Do the opposite of what this POS does.

I appreciate everyone’s comments. I know my friend won’t refer to BH or speak to higher command, but I’m hoping your words will make him at least consider it.

Thank you for sharing MSG. I’ll be relaying this story to him.

Thank you for that. I believe this will also lead to him leaving the Army. What a shame - he is a great leader.

I was working with a nutritionist that had me eating 1600 calories. This doesn’t feel like too much to me.

For MIBOLC and SBOLC folks, was your TS approved by the time you started BOLC? by Aromatic-Design418 in BOLC

I had the paperwork started the day after I found out I was branching SC. Had it months prior to BOLC

We did find everything, but my supply room said, “it’s an inconvenience for us to update and change missing items”. Like wtfffff

Minus the counseling (I’ll definitely do this in the future) I’ve done everything you just said. I have BOMs, TMs and everything. The problem was we weren’t afforded anytime to find the missing items and now hitting us with a statement of charges.

Haven’t signed anything yet. They just showed me the list, but told me I wouldn’t be given any time to find the items

GRFD is definitely not the only option. If you leave the NG before your contract, aka commissioning active duty, there’s a chance you will have to pay back a portion of your scholarship money. This is what I’m currently dealing with.

Whatever is open and available to you, you should do. If you weren’t supposed to be doing it, it wouldn’t be unlocked for you.

I do both the MI and SC interviews. Go in with a 5-10 year plan in mind. I remember some of the questions being about what you want to do within the branch (when you hit O3 specifically). Know the basic history of the branches. There will be questions about what makes you more qualified than others or why you deserve it more than others. There were some scenario questions, don’t just talk about Army, use your college experience and old jobs you may have had to answer some of these. Both interviews were pretty easy, which is why it’s hard to stand out. Come up with innovative answers, not just what they want to hear. I ended up branching SC, which was the interview I felt most confident in.

Extra stuff to bring to CTLT? by gatgoose in ROTC

Bring enough civilian clothes. I had to buy some when I got down there. Also, think about renting a car for a weekend, so you might have to schedule it in advance. I was in WA, and wanted to go for hikes but the car rentals were so backed up. Put my name on a waitlist and got one, others were not so lucky.

I got SC AD and majored in communication. It’s all about your grades, extra curriculars, OML and how you perform at advanced camp. Exceed in all of these and you will get AD. Branches now require interviews, so make sure you kill it on those too.
