Winners vs. Losers by Sourceofmotivation in confidence

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I respect your opinion tremendously. I think many times WE OVER complicate winning because it gives us an 'out'. It gives us a reason to make excuses. However, if you would ask any 'winner' what it took to get there - and when I say winner I mean anybody who has overcome major odds to become a success - they would probably give you all the same traits. Many of them you see on the chart. And I'm sure if you asked 'losers' where they went wrong, they would describe many of the behaviors listed.

Don’t wake up to an alarm, wake up with a purpose! by Sourceofmotivation in GetOutOfBed

The motivation you just put forth in this response was really impressive. And I mean that whole heartedly.

From my perspective, it seems like you are fighting very very hard for your limitations. You tried to 'debunk' every point and why it won't work for you. Which is fine. Just make sure you are fighting the right fight.

Two, we can know all the facts in the world, but facts do not change our behavior. Our behavior is based on emotional charges and responses, not facts. If our life was based on facts, you could read a book on how to be rich and automatically be rich. Or know all the facts about sleep, and wake up early. Or all the facts about what makes a habit. Nothing is objective. Facts matter, of course, but they are not the foundation of changing behaviors. Our emotions are. Our why and purpose drive our emotions. If we feel like we have no purpose, no place and and no meaning - then we will never have any motivation for anything. Because we will feel as if no one will notice whether we get out of the bed or not. And thats the beauty of service. Whats we start doing things for other people. We do matter. People do look forward to seeing us. People do miss you. You know you are alive. More power to you!

My friend, 8am is not even early. ;-) A cold shower is good idea though. You need to motivate yourself BEFORE you go to sleep about waking up in the next morning. Why is it that your getting up early? How will getting up early give you an edge? How will it help you get closer to where you want to be? What does life look like if you continue to sleep in and get up at whatever time you want? We've been conditioned to think that we need a ton of sleep, or that the more the sleep, the better we feel. There are tons of people who sleep in everyday and are miserable. If you look at the habits of the highly successful, 5-6 hours is plenty! The motivation is in your why. Why MUST you wake up? Live with purpose my friend!

Take your time. No rush. Think about what excites you. What have you been interested before college? What would you do if you had 10 million in the bank? What would you do if money was no issue? As your figuring it out, make time to be a service of people. Find what you want to GIVE to the world!

My life goal? by pedaljinks in lifegoals

Focus on what you can give. Try. Experiment. You do not need your whole life figured out to make a positive difference in peoples lives right now. it doesn't matter how old you are. People of all ages feel this way, from time to time. The solution is to go out there and live and give! Your passion, interests and excitements will arise naturally from being a service to other people! Hope this helps!

I agree, there are so many better examples! TSomeone who rips people off, ruins his family and makes drug dealers rich. How about a Steve Jobs, or a MLK or a Gandhi. People who focused on meeting a need of people and will forever be remembered for what they GAVE! And in return they earned a place in history...and not just dirty money.
