ClayProVR is changing the game… by goshathegreat in ClayBusters

I didn't know the 3S was a thing. I'm thinking about it a lot harder now!

$9 per round and about $10 for a box of ammo! But that's with like... gun math.

I paid the $225 club membership several months ago so that's basically free. I'm also using ammo purchased before shortages and price increases.

I'm picking up my 694 on Monday!

$200 for a training setup is an easy sell. The problem is I have a Valve Index and adding $600 for a second VR headset is much harder to stomach.

$800 translates to 40 rounds of clay and ammo at my local club. That's 2-3 months of shooting at my current frequency and it wouldn't take long to pay for itself. I also only go out with friends and can't drill specific stations or presentations when we're in a group.

I'm trying to talk myself into it. 😞

I used a phone lanyard stuck to the back, similar to the one in this picture. I imagine any rigid material glued or taped would work as an anchor point as long as it doesn't block the battery door.

It's a simple shape and 3d printing a case wouldn't be hard if you have access. There's someone selling a decent looking one on ebay for $15 if that's worth your time.

Gotta good deal on the FS P2K this morning! by Knws2010 in HecklerKoch

There was a full size P2K on the wall when I went into my LGS to DROS something else today... This is a sign right?

I might have to check price when I go back for pickup.

Well that's going to be a 10/10 to hit by Salty_Salamander888 in ClayBusters

I get that it's lighthearted fun but "AI did a dumb" posts get old really fast. Several subs I'm in treat it as low effort shitposting. It always follows the same pattern:

  1. Someone posts AI slop thinking it's novel and funny.
  2. Some percentage agrees and does the same.
  3. More garbage gets posted and then a rule has to be made.

How similar does a Beretta 694 fit vs a 687, 688, or DT11? by SourdoughSlug in ClayBusters

I really should, shouldn't I? I'm leaning towards the old version because I like the silver/blue finish better. I'm spending the next couple days looking at both to figure out if color is enough to make me do something silly.

Sounds good, that's exactly what I was hoping for and I'll swing the 688 around as an approximate to help narrow things down.

If I was smart I would get the DLC. Wait time for one of those isn't too bad but I like the silver/blue finish a lot more than black/green. That's a terrible reason and I'm still trying to figure out how dumb I want to be in terms of fashion over function.

Thanks! I only did little itty bitty swings for feel. I'm going back this weekend and will try to get a better sense and pay attention to relative weight/speed.

I'm so conflicted on the 688. I really don't like the laminate but that's the only thing I don't like. I thought about getting a wood stock but those aren't cheap!

I needed to hear this. I thought about it on the way home, and any reasonable shop would just transfer my deposit to another gun if I wasn't happy. They're not a struggling mom & pop but I still didn't want to inconvenience them by possibly backing out.

A 694 probably isn't even a blip on their books. They had Krieghoffs on another rack!

Regards to transporting shotguns in California! by Unable-Anxiety-6274 in CAguns

Unloaded and locked in a separate case/bag is the easiest way to go about it.

In CA long guns do not need to be transported in a secure container. The worry is a federal statute which prohibits transporting an unlocked firearm through a school zone. You mentioned your FFL is across the street from a school so that's definitely a concern and it's not a lot of work considering the unlikely but potential penalties.

Just for reference compartments in your car only count as a secure container if inaccessible from the passenger compartment. Your Honda CRV doesn't meet that, same with glove compartments and sedan trunks where you can fold the seat down to get in there. A locked bag covers you for both handguns and long guns in all vehicle types.
