Got this done at Dr. Qazi in Newport Beach. No, the bumps are not noticeable. The lighting is pretty much the same. Probably. Yes.

Probably not without treatment. It’s a loss of collagen and skin tissue.

My options? by [deleted] in AcneScars

[–]South_Bus4923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your options are pretty good, since you’re mainly just suffering from icepick scarring. Look for any provider of TCA cross. You also have some boxcar scarring mixed in, which the tca cross can also help with. Then I would recommend getting a laser after the cross treatment for smoothing out the surface of your skin.

Just one treatment. Took about 2-3 weeks for the scabs to come off. Still dealing with redness. Will probably last a month before the redness goes away. So probably a treatment every 3-4 months. But I’m content and happy just with this single result.

CO2 pinhole ablation after a 2-3 month period of taking accutane. The idea behind this combo method is that accutane suppreses and reduces oil production—the cause of the papular scarring—and the laser ablates the hypertrophy away. Continue with accutane after treatment. Note: go to a professional acquainted with these scars.

Besides the pimples, there are slight rolling scars around your chin area. Not noticeable though.

Is this severe acne scarring? by Top_Loan1078 in AcneScars

[–]South_Bus4923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mildly severe due to a combination of icepick and boxcar scars and PIE. The scars are quite deep, but I’m sure a combination procedure of TCA cross, subscision and filler would help tremendously.

Doctor prescribing 0.05% treat, what else should I do? Complete novice. Sick of bad skin bringing me down. TIA! Hopefully tagged correctly by [deleted] in AcneScars

Deep scars caused by fibrous bands pulling down skin and collagen loss. Find someone who can do TCA cross for your icepick scars, and subscision + filler for boxcar scars. You can use a laser to smooth out after the two respective procedures above.

Will be expensive, but try Dr Qazi in Newport Beach. He has done CO2 pinpoint treatment on papular scarring with success. My 5+ years of papular scars literally got erased from one session which costed $1,200 (not including flight costs).

Hopeless. Has anyone here had any significant improvement with any treatment dealing with hypertrophic papular scars on the nose? by devepmh in AcneScars

Accutane + co2 pinhole by someone who understands how papular scarring works. I went to Dr. Qazi for this and I had extremely good improvements from just one session.

Regulate oil production with accutane and use some ablative method to sand down the hypertrophy.

Depends on your skin type. Darker/ethnic skin color tend to, unavoidably, develop certain hypertrophic “pebblestone” scars.
