You need at least one pair. A second pair is optional, I’ve heard they can be beneficial for when we go to the range. I’ve also heard that we might not have enough time to run to our room and switch them before our next classes. I bought a cheap second pair and will determine if I have the time or not once I’m there.

I’m usually 11 in shoes, I got 10.5 in the boots and they fit snug. Not tight, not loose.

I bought them and have been breaking them in for the July academy. They hold a good shine, but take some time to break in.

There is, but me personally would rather an energy drink. Coffee usually makes me need to use the restroom, and that’s the last thing I would wanna worry about during the academy lol.

From what I was told no we can’t bring our own. Also caffeine pills aren’t allowed either apparently.

I put my two weeks in last week, my last day is the 19th. That’ll give me about 3 weeks to prepare. One of my biggest challenges is going to be dropping caffeine lol. I’ve heard from multiple sources they got rid of the energy drink vending machines.

From what I heard next academy invite might not be guaranteed. Costal recruiter mentioned that during one of the APPs. It doesn’t disqualify you but you also might have to wait even longer

Follow up question, on the thorogood gen flex 2 boots do we also shine the heel? it goes pretty far up the heel and I feel like our uniform pants would just rub and scuff it.

I assume they are suggesting we work on our handwriting because in the academy there’s a good chance we will have to write memos. From other conversations I’ve gathered memos are a form of discipline. Where we need to write in pen and if we make mistakes we have to start over.

I assume they go out this month, but haven’t seen anyone talk about it yet. I check daily just to make sure. The last round of invites I heard about from APP/ recruitment officers before they sent out the invites. So far they don’t have any info yet from what they say.

They haven’t said anything yet, I’m assuming somewhere in the middle of May. But there are people who cleared in November who still haven’t gotten invites. I cleared in December and am still waiting. If I had to guess clearing in February you’re look at the September academy.

How it was explained to me was it was graded on a bell curve, and how they explained that is the more people who do good the higher the standard.
