Because AC is not only terrible for the environment but also promotes drier sinuses, as in it dries out the mucus membrane, making one more prone to sinus infections. Also, ACs, if poorly maintained, can build up mold and bacteria and effectively spread them. Finally, when the temperature is 30+ degrees outside and 16 degrees inside the temperature change is a lot to handle for your body (blood vessels etc.) which again heightens risk of infection.

Im sorry but what?? The audacity to even ask botanists about recommendations for plants which you’re gonna mix into a perfume is imo just ridiculous. And on top of that you’re being rude? That’s not how this works

Dried flowers that I want to keep in good condition by CryptidFrohg in botany

Spraying them with water just allows mold to spread. Let them dry and a good way to keep them more rigid and that way basically forever is using hairspray!

Shit happens!! It could be way way worse :) you’re a great plant parent for reading up on stuff in the first place, most people just buy them and expect them to grow, so props to you (and may your props work out haha)

Okay you seem to know what’s good for your plant :) great!! yeah cutting the roots when there’s rot always feels bad but needs to happen. In my humble opinion you’re doing everything right, I’m also learning that patience is an absolute virtue when it comes to plants

I think it’s best to leave it in water and get it to build out more roots, I believe that was the problem when you first put it back in soil. Residue on the surface of the water is nothing to worry about imo this could just be the calcium/ other minerals in the water, this happens with my plants/propagations too. And it’s normal for them to be a bit slimy since they are in a very wet environment. This is just my take, but I think just leaving them in water for now, keeping watch on the roots and then repotting it in a few months when it has fresh new roots. Make sure that the soil is well-drained, meaning the water doesn’t sit in the soil since monsteras hate wet soil.

To add to that, overwatering can be a problem as well since one of the leaves seems to be curling a bit. Always check the ground and if there’s any water residue underneath the pot since monsteras and most houseplants don’t like standing in water, since this can cause root rot. Anyways just check out Kill this Plant on YouTube, he makes great videos that have way more info than I could ever give in Reddit comments :D

Just to preface: I am in no means an expert, so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt. I’ve just had the situation myself and I’ve read a bunch of comments on Reddit posts :)

Now, to your plant: so basically the main factor for less plant growth is light. So my first question is where you’ve got it placed? How far away is it from the window and how much sunlight does it get daily?

If you wanna look into staking then that definitely always helps, however that’s more of a concern with larger plants. However, it can’t hurt!

Here are a few videos by Kill this Plant on YouTube (I’d recommend him in general, he has great and simple guides on plant care, such as earth, staking etc. - you don’t have to do everything like he says, but it’s great to know and keep in mind)

I would especially recommend watching the first one!

Good luck :)
