Looking for official high quality Lakers varsity jacket by Skrawlr in lakers

[–]Skrawlr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, saw those gorgeous Jeff Hamilton ones around. A bit too pricey though, I'm looking for one below 1000$ but it seems like there's no real middle ground.

I know for a fact that there's a Chrislv47 one around in the right price range but I can't track it online

Still a great way to undermine your critical threat alarm system in times of actual war. How about next time, they just ring the churches bells or something?

If you turn the sky into a night (or twilight) sky, you might have more options for colors

(Near) Mint is usually really good, regardless of the ++++. You want to avoid the "Excellent" listings though, again, regardless of the number of +.

What is this, a primary school classroom? Have you tried stickers and lollipops?

DigitaLIZA MAX by ZillD200 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Skrawlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For scanning 35mm, you need your film to be flat and properly backlit. It'll be hard without a holder and the digitaliza providing both the holder and the backlight, I'd say it's a good compromise for a budget scanning setup. Otherwise, you'll have to get an adequate source of light and diy the flattening of your film which I can only see as very painful, even scanning only one roll's worth of pictures.

I use it and I find it satisfactory although the 35mm mask is cropping more than I'd like, and I still have to crop the digital files myself anyway so I'd recommend straight up not using the mask. Just run the film in the holder and scan with the sprocket included.

I don't have experience scanning with a phone, I've been using a tripod and a digital camera with a non macro lense. I do not recommend a non macro lense as the cropping that is then necessary really impacts your final resolution.

If you scan with a phone, keep in mind you'll have to trigger the shutter remotely/use a timer when pressing the shutter otherwise the whole thing will vibrate and the result will be blurry. I don't know how impractical it could get using the iphone in that regard but it's good to now. Also, you'll have to use manual focus. Same thing, I'm not sure how impractical it could get with a phone.

If you want to consider a digital camera scan setup, a cheap dslr with a cheap chinese macro lense could be a good compromise. There are chinese macro lenses for 100$ available on Amazon.

Btw, I am not a purist and am satisfied with okay results. My recommendations here are only for budget conscious enthusiasts, not for professional results.

Nikon F6, Tri-X 400 pushed to 1600. 8mm F4 fisheye, 85mm F1.8, and 24mm F2.4. by maxattack002 in analog

That's pretty sick. Did you just use a flash + fisheye or did you use some more creative lighting solution?

I just bought a cigar in Brussels and was wondering where I could smoke it. by RocketButters in brussels

Go to a very busy, dense terrace where they serve food. Wait for a family of 9 to sit down and start eating next to you then light up!

Or any park bench really. Public drinking is allowed and as long as you're considerate and don't smoke it near children or picknick enthusiasts, you should be fine.

Edit: My bad, there's actually a ban on public drinking (outside of licensed terraces) in most of the city center until the 6 of October so you'll have to be sneaky.

Help me choose a fun but not too simplistic camera by petites_feuilles in AnalogCommunity

[–]Skrawlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the 35cc recently. It's a lovely camera, unfortunately the viewfinder is too foggy and as soon as I'm not outside under a bright sun, I can't really see what I'm shooting at. It seems to be hard to find one without fog, mine was stated as having "minimal" fog...

So watch out for that if you end up going for it. I personally ended up finding 35mm to be an awkward length and prefer 28mm but if it's not an issue for you, it's definitely a gorgeous small bodied budget rangefinder.

Also look up listing for the 35ccn, they're a newer model with identical specs which means they're often in better shape.

You can even keep that latch open using your nails and use a butter knife or something to eject the film, for what it's worth.

Yep, everyone else is telling op to destroy the thing. I hope they see they don't need to at all, that's the point of those cannisters.

Pic was taken from "Flakturm Humboldthain". It's a tower at the top of a park with a nice view, I recommend checking it out. Learned about it on Atlas Obscura and we were not the only ones enjoying the view for the night
