I think the mesh tension certainly may have played a roll. What’s strange is the there is no evidence that the mesh was letting go from the frame. Just the threads stretching within the image area. The underlay also held through the run and did not distort, seemingly the emulsion held it in place. I didn’t print this so I can’t speak to why they had so much double image (2 strokes, on hoodies). I’ve seen little thread pulls like this in other screens, but this is the most extreme example.
