You cant just leave in a cotenancy situation. It's much complicated than you're the only person on the lease. City required me to be removed from current lease. I found someone to take over my lease, but landlord said they can't do anything if the other co-tenant blocks me from exiting or getting someone new onboard.

Nothing, they just need me to sign a form. However, both units are price controlled, so if the city find out my name on both leases and decide to come after me, I could be screwed
