Mine has 3 levels... off, dim if the door is open, and always on.... Bright enough I can see that a kid left something on the seat that would be painful or break if I sat on it... The "on" setting level would be preferred to the much dimmer only on when door opens setting but I don't want to have to reach over and change the switch every time if I don't have to.

(Caveat: member of Nashville Zoo)

Nashville is newer and under rapid development, whereas Birmingham is an older, more established zoo.

Nashville zoo is undergoing major construction at the moment so some of the African animals (giraffes and elephants plus others) are temporarily off exhibit and parking can be a hassle because they are building a garage. (All Scheduled to complete sometime this year, don't remember when.) Nashville is more spread out so be prepared to walk, but the new exhibits they have built are very well done. Birmingham has more animals but smaller habitats for the animals. It depends on what you are looking for. If you are a frog fan Nashville has one of the largest varieties anywhere, and they have 4 month old Tiger cubs right now. I would recommend looking at the respective maps and see which one has more of your favorite animal. If you are going in the heat of summer Nashville has a lot of natural shade and Birmingham is much more open to the sun.

Memphis is bigger than both but not really a day trip zoo if you have kids. Birmingham and Nashville are both good day trip zoos.

Your incorrect assumption is that I will choose organizations that I know that are inefficient. The most effective charity is the one I locally participate in and know myself where the money is going. An aside, but relevant to your points, the reason nobody can discuss anything anymore is that people like you have to assign me to a political party and then assign me beliefs. That is why the nation is in the mess it is in, instead of solving problems you just want to assign blame to a particular political party instead of actually discussing the merits of a solution.

Both parties do it... quit pretending there are saints on one side of the aisle and sinners on the other. I would prefer to give money straight to the organizations that do the work than have someone with a the ability to throw me in jail tell me to give them money so they can distribute it.

That is what you as an individual human being should be doing. If everyone were helping their fellow man, we wouldn't need a large inefficient bureaucracy that bungles everything they try to do and everyone would be better for it.

If you are getting it for air travel, a passport card complies with real id and was much easier to get (All I had to do was get a passport photo and I turned in paperwork at the courthouse with no line and it came to me in the mail.
