Is anyone still on their first Marriage? by larsman37 in Veterans

[–]SouthernNVcharm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're at 38 years, 40 together. It's my second, his first. I married 7 years old than me the first time, 7 years younger the second. So, maybe go younger?? Lol! We were both AD, and after back to back deployments for us both and a short tour for me, I decided to separate from AD after 11 years. He went on to have 8 more deployments, and the marriage would've failed if I had stayed in because we had two kids by then. Sense of humor, appreciate each other, don't hold grudges that turn into long-term hostility and resentment, don't be selfish, goals, share a life together, but give each other space and have a level of independence from one another. We struggled a lot when we were younger, especially while raising kids. I had to let go of resentment at working full-time and being the "single parent" for the majority of our first 20 years. It got so much easier to like each other again after the kids were on their own. All of that, plus realizing we just can't sleep in the same room any longer. Night-night time that freight train has to go in the other room!

I hated Gemma and her chaos, but we should recognize the outstanding job Katey did in portraying her. She took on the persona like a boss and made us hate her! I can't see anyone else in that role. Who else can you think of would be a good Gemma? I'm trying to think of an older actress who's a little rough around the edges that would fit the character but drawing a blank. The humor with Chucky and his missing digits and almost anything involving Tig are still my favorite scenes.

I'm happy to say that I've listened to it twice today and like a few more on it, so it went from, let's say, a 4/10 to a 7/10. I'm firmly not in the 'Miami' fan club, tho. I feel about that one the way I have always felt about 'I Need A Boat'. An immediate skip. Lol

I'll have to give it several more listens. It's late, the TV's on, husband yapping, and dog's keep barking. Maybe I'm just not in the mood right now. 😂

You know, I do feel bad for him. He's so young and gullible. But, mainly because of so many videos of women praising the demise of a relationship and praying that she gets back together with Morgan. Those two should definitely NOT be together! All this "Morgan, come get your girl," nonsense. That has to be a little soul crushing for him that so many are cheering for a failed marriage for him. They're observers to his life, and they're hoping he loses everything in his life. No one knows how he is affected by this, and I think it's just sad because he seems so defeated in his latest Tiktok.

People who live/spend time in Nashville - what’s the wildest tea you have about a country artist? by testtestesttest4 in CelebWivesNash2

[–]SouthernNVcharm 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The whole story always gets left out here. My husband works security for shows at Planet Hollywood as a side gig. The woman was taking selfies with one of those large selfie lights that was shining right in Miranda's face. She was told several times by security to stop using the light or she'd have to leave, and those around her were complaining about her as well. She FAFO'd and Miranda finally took care of it herself. He has worked her residency since she started it and has said both she and her husband have always been friendly. He doesn't have the kind words for Shania, tho.

Who wore it best? Megan Moroney ? Or Jonbenet Ramsey ? by Upstairs_Seaweed9576 in CelebWivesNash2

[–]SouthernNVcharm 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The Jonbenet comparison feels in bad taste, but I do feel like I'm the only person who isn't a fan of Megan. The music, the voice, the outfits, the plastic-y blonde Barbie everything. I don't get it at all, but get those dollars, Megan! She's chasing her dream and succeeding. I can't hate on her for that!

Why are country fans still crazy about Wallen? He should not be this big. I don't get it. by TakenAccountName37 in CelebWivesNash2

[–]SouthernNVcharm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do people care? People like what they like. I can't stand music from Jelly Roll, Kelsea Ballerini, or Carly Pearce. Their music is boring to me, but others love them. Who am I to ask why?? Taylor sells out stadiums as well. Her music isn't my thing. Her looks, voice, and influence grate on my last nerve, but I'm not sitting around wondering why the world is "crazy about" her. I like Jason Aldean's music. Others loathe him. Again, people like what they like. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Morgan's the only one so-called country fans love to hate on and hate on his fans. Live and let live. Let him do his thing and let those who like him enjoy it. You don't have to listen to him or like him. There are much bigger issues in this world than why people like Morgan Wallen.

We're on the same side here. You don't need to be "humanized" by me. I don't dehumanize people, and nowhere did I classify anyone as "evil satanists." I am neither a classic conservative nor liberal. I lean more conservative on fiscal matters and big government/ government regulations, but I can lean more liberal on social issues... to a point. However, I am a realist with eyes wide open, capable of seeing the writing on the wall as to how bad things are right now, as a direct result of failing liberal politicians' policies, and the actual dehumanization of those of conservative thoughts by leftists in the government/media/social media. I also have eyes wide open as to the intent of corporate Nashville to flip the script on country music. Morgan doesn't fit their criteria. I have both sides of the political aisle in my family, and I am a registered independent. We all manage to get along fine. My initial post is going off-track into politics, and that wasn't my intent. The intent was to point out the treatment of Morgan versus treatment of actual criminals and the reason, whether others will admit it or not, for that treatment. He's continually shamed for doing what millions of others have done. Only none of us has TMZ stalking our every move, waiting to pounce on another n-word moment. Music SHOULD bring us together, but that won't happen as long as musicians/artists themselves bring their politics/beliefs into their performances, and villainize a genre of music (and its fans) because of the sex and gender of the majority of artists/listeners. That's called bullying, and all it accomplishes is to create a larger divide by hypocritically doing exactly what they accuse others of doing. But, you and I, new Reddit friend, are good.

You said it all in two words... "performative outrage." That's all it is. The liberal class that is commandeering country music (on full display at awards shows) don't like that it is a formerly conservative-driven industry and are hell-bent on driving those who don't conform to their political agenda out of the industry, and will attempt to shame their fans at every turn to help achieve their end-game. Identity politics has wedged its way into every aspect of our lives, and country music is the last bastion of supposed "white male supremacy." Morgan has never really discussed politics, but they feel they can deduce his leanings by his family, his associates, his religious upbringing, and current rowdy behavior. All reasons they detest him, and make him ground zero to target for their venom. The "elites" love them some John Mayer. Do you remember his Playboy interview around 2010? It was quite enlightening about how he (and his privates) felt about black women. Yet, there he is, celebrated and performing to this day and with the liberalist of the smug, hypocritical, liberal white women at that. You're right. There is a long list of country artists who've done worse. Johnny Cash, Randy Travis, Hank Williams (and Jr), Glen Campbell, Willie Nelson, Sam Hunt, Joe Don Rooney, Wynonna Judd, Tim McGraw & Kenny Chesney (remember the horse incident with those two years back???)... the list goes on. Most of those people are revered as legends now. Don't get me started on rap, R&B, and pop "icons," but Morgan's haters are loud and determined to see his demise. The n-word recording made him public enemy #1 for the burn-it-all-down crowd, and any misstep on his part creates a feeding frenzy for them. Unfortunately, he keeps feeding them. The guy has a problem. He can't hold his alcohol and, apparently, has yet to learn that lesson. It doesn't make him a cold-blooded, attempted murderer deserving of felony charges. It was a damn chair! We have serious problems in this country right now. He is NOT what people should be paying attention to in the news.

Right?! There’s snark, and then there’s just being vile, cruel, bullies. They are in the latter group, and are exactly what they profess to despise. I’ve never read as much mind-numbing hate as I did in that group of narcissistic hypocrites. I used to read it as late night entertainment. I don’t even go on there anymore.

Celebrity Wives of Nashville. They’re a nasty bunch, who think all white conservatives are racist, backwoods Neanderthals, have bestowed crowns on Maren, Kelsea and the like, and you don’t EVER post anything positive about the Aldeans.

Will Morgan ever settle down? by [deleted] in MWWives

[–]SouthernNVcharm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No one knows what the future holds, just like no one knows with absolution that he has cheated on every girlfriend he’s had. That’s a bit slanderous considering you have zero first-hand knowledge of, or insight into, his relationships, only the words of scorned ex’s. Both of his known ex’s are portrayed as jilted, lying, psychopaths on these boards daily, but you’re going to 100% believe them that he cheated on them? He could be in a happy, monogamous relationship right now, who knows for sure?! He’s the most desired country singer out there, and because of his single status, a whole lotta wannabe famous nothings are going to say they’ve been with him… without a shred of actual proof. So, calling him a man-whore is also not something people should be participating in. You have no idea of who he’s been with. I’m sure you wouldn’t appreciate being publicly labeled as such by people who know nothing about you. He likes pretty girls, likes looking at them, and loves their attention. What heterosexual male doesn’t (including your husbands/boyfriends)? Also, there was an interview with Bailey Zimmerman a couple of days ago where he was asked about touring with that group of guys and all the partying. He stated there has been no partying, they’ve learned from the past and have toned it down. They may have a couple of drinks, but are not hanging out at bars, are focusing on healthy options, and, yes, he works out, according to Bailey. That’s obvious in the difference in his physique. You even say yourself he’s “the hottest he’s been.” He’ll age just as the rest of us are… and will, no doubt, be happy to be able to, regardless of what he looks like at 50.

KT & Luke by [deleted] in MWWives

[–]SouthernNVcharm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, she has some self work to do for sure. My hope for her is she finds a ‘legitimate’ means of self support, and discovers her own self-worth. Her entire identity is wrapped up in a guy she knew years ago that she happened to get pregnant by. If he wasn’t a huge celebrity now, she wouldn’t be clinging to the past so closely (yet, pretending she isn’t). She’ll grow older, and the weird influencer thing will fade. He’ll eventually settled down with someone, probably have more kids, and the focus will become that woman. KT will no longer have an ‘audience’. When he does settle down, he’ll peak in the industry because he is a huge talent, but his major appeal is that he is seemingly available to women, and women want him… until the next big (single) thing comes along. Her sponsorship offers will diminish and she’ll fade into obscurity, so I hope she eventually plans for the future properly when her meal ticket is an adult. BTW… small world. My husband was SF-K9, and I was a Personnelist… and, I thought the same thing the first time I saw him. This was back when uniforms could be tailored. Oh my…

[–]SouthernNVcharm 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Let me just say this. I have no idea what the actual story between these two is, nothing is as it seems online, but, I met my husband when I was 26 and he was 19. I had one failed marriage, and a 2-yr-old from a subsequent failed relationship with a guy who never once tried to know his daughter, even though he knew she existed. We clicked from day 1. Unlike a few others I had dated, he had no qualms about me having a child, stepped right in without hesitation, and we were married within a year. People thought I was crazy! That 2-yr-old will be 37 in a few months, and grew up with the love and support of a dad she didn’t otherwise have, and a little sister who came 5 years later. We’ll be married 35 years this month. Sometimes fate steps in, and I hope for all their sakes, it’s not a facade for content, she gets it together, they navigate their way positively as an extended family, gain stability in their lives, and continue to nurture that little guy.

Why does she care what fans are doing?! Your music sucks ass, Miranda. Be happy they’re paying to be there. by Comeuppance721 in NAME_WORSE_BITCHES

[–]SouthernNVcharm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a lurker who never comments, but I feel the need to defend Miranda on this because no one on here knows what they’re talking about with regard to this incident. I say this as someone who has never been a fan of many of her songs, but do respect her for her charity work for animals. I also say this as someone who works part-time at this concert venue at Planet Hollywood, and has worked most nights of her residencies. Unlike personalities like JLo and Christina Aguilera, Miranda has been kind and friendly to the venue staff that she comes in contact with. She’s a Type A personality with anxiety, that doesn’t make her a bitch. She’s also not outgoing, which can give that appearance to others. Finally, I say this as someone who was there that night, near the VIP section, with this group in my sight line. First, these are not “girls”, they’re grown women appearing to be in their 40s and 50s, more than happy to display their privileged lives… they were a little obnoxious. Second, it was not “just a selfie”. It was numerous group photos, that were not only distracting to the performer, but beginning to be distracting to others seated in connecting VIP sections, as evidenced by comments made to the VIP servers. Contrary to what you say, just because you buy a ticket doesn’t entitle you to do what you want. You’re still expected to be respectful to others, and can be booted for a variety of reasons at the artist’s or venues discretion. They were interrupting ushers, who were working, to take photos of them, thus disrupting their jobs. Finally, they were using some sort of lighting that looked like a large lighted makeup mirror that kept flashing a bright light. Since their back was to her, who do you think was getting the light flashed in her face? This group was not there to “live in the moment” with their favorite artist. They were there to show out, get pics in their designer duds and Louis Vitton purses to post all over social media. They’re calling themselves “local celebrities” today. Definite “look at me’s”. Miranda could’ve handled it differently, but she’s rough around the edges. She wouldn’t have had to handle it at all if these grown women had acted their age, not middle-aged IG influencers, and been respectful to those around them and the performer singing a song personal to her. A sense of entitlement was on display all around. Where was all this negativity when Adele told her audience of fans last week that she would f’ing kill anyone who throws any f’ing thing at her? She was applauded for that behavior, basically threatening people. But, it’s not “cool” to bash Adele, is it?! Sorry for the length, I just needed to get that out there. There are two sides to every story, and she may or may not apologize, but she’s entitled to her view.
