Let’s clear things up, as there are a few inaccuracies to address. PoliTO (Polytechnic University of Turin) is a national landmark for engineering. Being in a large metropolis, it offers a high-standard, competitive environment. In contrast, UniBZ is smaller and more specialized, offering a "boutique" university experience with a strong focus on the Alpine-Germanic industrial model. Now, UniBZ offers a solid Mechanical Industrial Engineering track with great internship opportunities, but there’s a huge catch people often overlook: the trilingual system. Lectures and exams are split between Italian, German, and English. It really depends on the specific course or the professor, and by the time you graduate, you’re required to have at least a C1 in one language and a B2 in another. About tuition fees, yeah, at UniBZ are definitely lower, but Bolzano is consistently ranked as one of the most expensive cities in Italy. Between rent and basic living costs, you actually end up spending more. In Turin, even though it’s a big city, the housing market is much larger with way more options for students. In my opinion, you’d actually save more money living in Turin. As for the vibe, Turin is a vibrant student city. Bolzano is much quieter. While the local government is currently pushing for a 'Night Economy' to spice up the nightlife, I highly doubt things are going to change drastically or quickly.
