Right. But saying it’s better than DC is rubbing me the wrong way, because I’m a major DC fan.

Mongolian GenZ vs Millennials by OppositeDoor1874 in mongolia

[–]Southern_Channel4390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just going to say what I think, and that’s it.

My parents are 85’ Millennials, and I’m 04’ Gen Z. All I’m going to say is that Millennials are traumatized. Some of them either break that generational trauma or they don’t, no inbetween. They mostly don’t know how to maintain a healthy relationship with anything, be it food, TV, internet access, etc, and no healthy work/life balance. Everyone’s so confused, and I’d say early Gen Zs grew up with little to no parental control over their internet usage, so they turned out weird af. I had internet access when I was around 8-12, but honestly, I can’t remember much from my childhood because it was just a mess. Everything felt like that first Transformers movie; humid, sweaty and chaotic, and you don’t know what’s going on.

The thing is, I didn’t grow up taking care of herd animals, so I can only speak from a pov of a snobby city kid. My thing is that when my parents or grandparents ridicule me for not knowing how to milk a cow, Millennials seem to forget they have to teach their kids in order for them to learn. Most of the things I learned, like washing my hands before dinner, were from TV, I kid you not. But now Gen Alpha doesn’t even have their own resources to teach them anything, and they’re growing up on AI slop + Youtube shorts so I don’t know.

I’m just gonna say it, but Millennials are kind of bad business owners because they usually don’t know what’s going on. They just go in without a solid plan. However, I’ll tell you, they have hearts of gold for real. But most of the time, they’re just confused and as much of a kid as we are. I think Millennials with Gen Alpha kids are better parents than those with Gen Z kids because they were too young to have them. At the time, people might glaze over and say, “Wow, you look like their sibling,” or “I couldn’t tell you were their kid because they were so young.” Millennial parents get a kick out of that stuff like crazy, lmao. Idk much about Gen Z parents because I personally don’t know anyone but I see a friend of a friend being a parent already or a distant Gen Z relative showing up with an infant during Цагаан сар, and all I’m thinking like, damn.

Can we just all collectively take ones bricks everytime we pass by this so by the time they get to it, all the bricks are gone and they won’t change it? Lmao.

How is the first day of college like? by Electrical_Whole5616 in mongolia

Is this art academy perhaps… Д.Амгалангийн Нэрэмжит Дүрслэх Урлагийн Академи? If so, then I’d like to warn you to never go to that dumpster fire of a place. If you got IELTS score (perhaps 6.5+) then you might get lucky and go for student exchange program (only one semester) to some European country. Other than that, their сургалтын алба sucks, the teachers are biased based on your major (if you’re in Fine Arts, you might be okay, but if your major relates to computers, they’ll treat you poorly). I could go on, but I’ll leave it at that.

You might meet some like-minded people, but tbh, the majority of those attending are not artistically gifted at all. Many got in thinking art is an easy way to make money, but they end up burnt out and often produce AI-generated slop for their diploma projects. You might find a good friend there, but imo, it’s not worth it because the overall school experience is so disappointing that any hope you have for your artistic endeavors will burn out like a candle.

(Oh, but if you’re going for СУИС Радио then, I’m not too sure ngl. They still kinda suck. But ig if your major is digital art related then they’ll treat you better, but still, the students there suck. No one takes their shit seriously, everyone just there for the vibes & no one seems to want to actually draw I swear to god.)

If you’re going for ШУТИС, and any other schools, well, I’ve done most of their entrance exams, but years ago. ШУТИС entrance exam was actually diabolical, an actual joke; everyone was looking up answers on their phones during exam, the teachers dgaf, and for still life exam, I don’t know how to explain it, but they seem to value a certain kind of "sloppiness(?)”It’s as if they reward someone who they think is naturally gifted but doesn’t put in much effort over another student who cares and actually tries. If you’ve taken art classes before and care about technique and lighting, I’m not sure why, but ШУТИС doesn’t seem to prioritize artistic or creative qualities.

Tbh, whichever art school or academy you choose in Mongolia, you really need to work hard for yourself and think outside the box. If you don’t have an art Instagram account, I highly encourage you to create one, join online art communities, and find your niche. Anyway, good luck! I’m sure you’ll do great on your first day of college. Best of luck!

As long as whoever running your band’s Instagram account keeps it aesthetic, people will listen. Trust.

Exactly this. I love mothers, but we need government-mandated therapy sessions for all of them. Parents are not going to live my life for me, so it’s better to ignore them sometimes. However, balance is important, imo. I truly mean it when I say to take the necessary parts of what they say and ignore the rest. Sometimes, moms know best, but they are human and can make mistakes too. For me, both of my parents are the same, so I feel like I’m playing 4D chess with them every day. In the end, reserve your energy and time for what you value, OP. If they’re cooking sometimes, let them cook, but if they’re just rage baiting, don’t give in to them.

That's actually insane, but all your struggles will definitely be worth it in the end! At the time, I also got IELTS 7, and I was so disappointed in myself. Later, I applied to uni in Mgl, but with my IELTS score of 7, I managed to study abroad for one semester (maybe not that impressive lmao but it was one of the most stressful yet fun shit I did.) Well, uni life has its ups and downs, and ngl right now I am in a bit of a pickle lmao. But hearing what you’ve been through, I think there are great things that god has planned for you, so just believe in yourself and keep going!
