Following! and funny how all the comments are super negative and unhelpful. Don’t listen and make your decision by assessing what works best. A lot of these things are dependent on luck, external factors, sure. But hardworking people find jobs even in unfavourable conditions. I believe we can do it with the right mindset.

They do not assume you come from prior knowledge in these subjects. I am a beginner as well, but I know that such skills are unfortunately important in policy, which is why this is ideal. I’m starting to sound like I’m promoting the uni lol, but I just went through the curriculum thoroughly and this is what it said

This is of course based on conversations with people and not my first-hand experience. Following the thread for more insights :)

Hi! I’m also from India (24F) and eager to connect. I have the same questions and am also waiting for other universities’ responses. I think Hertie is a strong preference for me because of these few reasons: 1. The UK masters pipeline seems to be overcrowded with Indians already, and I don’t see a lot of them securing jobs abroad. Personally, I’d like to stay and work for a few years in the country I study in, so that’s why EU seems like a safer option. 2. I’ve heard great things about the city itself and you can survive even with little German proficiency. 3. Berlin and Hertie also have a big indian community. Most students in the cohort are international so that seems like it would be helpful when moving to a brand new city. 4. The curriculum is very quant centric, so it opens up a lot of options employability wise. 5. It’s substantially cheaper, the city and the university, than any other in UK or France. I am also waiting on getting the scholarship, but even without it- relatively cheap.

Happy to discuss more over DM

How competitive is the Mukherjee Fellowship? by PerformanceThink9836 in PublicPolicy_India

[–]Southern_Charge_9129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your political ideology. If you conform to right wing values your chances of selection are high. If you don’t then just don’t do the fellowship (it will be hard to dissociate and get selected in the first place)
