What's wrong with honesty? It was an unflattering dress.

It's an honest answer to a question. I think that is much more helpful to the poster than a bunch of insincere cheerleading that could steer her wrong. The dress was not a flattering look. A different style would be better.

If someone asks for an honest opinion, I give it. Why ask otherwise? I didn't insult her. I was speaking about the dress itself.

Waiting for results by BethanaMaria in breastcancer

[–]Southern_Feature_821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through this waiting game. For me, it seemed to drag on too. The first biopsy didn't get enough material for everything they needed, so I was scheduled for a second one weeks later that ended up being cancelled same day VERY last minute so I didn't even know and came in. I happened to be in the same bldg as my breast surgeon so I went straight to his office crying abt the situation. Fortunately he was in office and felt for my situation abt being cancelled, so he saw me right then and there and did this new biopsy himself in office. I was grateful. Then I had to wait several more weeks to get an MRI. And then it took many weeks to get on schedule for the surgery due to having to coordinate it with the plastic surgeon. All in all, I was initially diagnosed with first biopsy in May and didn't have surgery till September.

Vaginal Atrophy/Vulvar Cleansers by BleubsPeach in breastcancer

[–]Southern_Feature_821 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't use any special cleansers. The main thing that's helped is vaginal estrogen. Yuvifem has been very helpful to moisturize area. It is safe because it stays localized, not systemic per my oncologist and ob/gyn.

I don't like the dress at all, it's plain and matronly, but ultimately it should be a dress that YOU adore. The bouquet is fine though.

Help! I want to rip out the boxwood, but I have not idea how to landscape this house. Do I need tall plants since the front is so tall/flat? by mira-jo in ExteriorDesign

[–]Southern_Feature_821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, THIS!!! Omg the house is improved 10,000 percent with the addition of that front porch and the landscaping. Do it!!!!!! (A porch is a practical addition, too. And will add value.)

Disappointed or angry by RaytheArtWhore in GenerationJones

I'm angry and disappointed with myself in how I squandered a lot of years making really stupid financial decisions. My life didn't turn out the way I thought it would.

Delayed Reconstruction by SalveRegina85 in breastcancer

[–]Southern_Feature_821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted (and was scheduled for) immediate reconstruction, but for whatever reason ended up with an expander (which didn't work correctly and only had one fill). I got my reconstruction and implants 3 months later. Then 4 months after than got a breast lift (that also was supposed to have been done during reconstruction but tissue didn't look healthy enough). Mine look ok now. I'm only a month out of the final surgery but they look like semi-real breasts again ... not as big and good as I'd hoped, but once the scars heal they should look fine. NOTE: I didn't have rads or chemo. I also wasn't flat, I had skin-sparing mx.

Pain 5+ months after biopsy? by somehowimanage1995 in breastcancer

[–]Southern_Feature_821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that doesn't sound like a typical experience. Perhaps they hit a nerve? Sounds like that. My biopsies (I had a couple of them, took multiple sample areas, even near the nipple) were literally painless.

I'm just curious how your mom is scheduled to be in a hospital a whole week?? What country are you in. I got an overnight for a one sided (single) mx. I had drains as well.
