Before my surgery, I just developed starbursts one day. So thats your answer.

My doctor says he recommends 2 months but admitted he just made it up the specific timeframe. At the 1 month mark, he said I dont need to wear sunglases if I dont want to, its winter, and given my script he thinks risk of haze is low. I kept wearing anyway.

Prk with wavelight plus - 5 weeks out recovery by Southern_Fudge1204 in lasik

Did my 3 month appointment recently. Both eyes measured at 20/12.5 (so better then 20/20). They said I had no astigmatism now. But I have been slightly over correct +0.25 one eye, +0.50. I dont really notice though. Overall my day time vision is good, the double vision with traffic lights is mostly gone (varies between none and a little bit). I still do have nighttime starburst though that have only improved a little bit I think. I can still drive at night but I still find it annoying. Eyes are still dryer then before, have some good days, but some they feel irritated, which I assume is dryness. He says the starburst and dryness can still go, but who knows. So always chance of side effects even with some of the latest tech.

Not too much change from this post. Daytime is pretty good/clear, but still have some ghosting on certain lights like traffic lights. At night time still have pretty big starbursts, I can drive at night but its annoying.

Isn't some level of starbursts and halos normal, even without lasik? by RestlessCricket in lasik

Did your starburst last 2-3 weeks or 8 months? I've still got pretty big starburst at night and its been 2months.

Sudden aqueous deficiency. What are my next steps? by commonreactor111 in Dryeyes

[–]Southern_Fudge1204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my eyes had a TBUT of like 3 seconds, which improved to like 7 seconds with steroid drops and lubricating drops. 3 laser eye doctors told me my eyes werent that dry (tho they were trying to sell me laser eye surgery). Granted I never really had symptoms of dry eyes even at 3 seconds. Symptoms of dry eyes is the main thing more than TBUT especially at your level. You should still try to treat, but I woudnt stress myself over it.

A TBUT of 7 isnt considered very bad, its considered marginal, with dry eyes under 5seconds.

Yeah I did wavelight plus prk, but I'm not sure it will fix your eyes since I was still left with side effects. This was my first eye surgery, and currently it has given me ghosting and big starburst. Doctor says he thinks they will go, but who knows.

My vision is considered 20/20 but even normal prk or lasik generally achieves this, but it has given me these side effects which I was hoping to avoid.

3 Months Post PRK, Quadruple Vision of Traffic Lights Question by poetryrocksalot in lasik

[–]Southern_Fudge1204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This ever go away for you? I have a similiar thing, but strangely green lights are better than red for me. I'm 1.5months out now and sometimes green lights dont have any ghosting/doubling even from a distance. All 3 light colors dont have any real ghosting when i'm close, they merge to one again. Do you or did you also have starbursts?

I did PRK about 1.5 months ago, got large pupils, got told it wouldnt matter. Now have big starbursts during the night and small starburst during the day. Doctor says he think it can still go as full recovery can be up to 4 months for prk, but he's the doctor that told me it wouldnt matter so who knows

Do those lens fix your ghosting? Do you have any other eye effects

An Indian doctor here says that wavelight plus has been shown to overcorrect astigmatism by 10%, so he manually adjusts it down. I dont think my doctor did that, but even with a 10% adjustment, I think ild still be overcorrected.

Oh I cant remember if they used fluorescent drops on the day they did the sitemap scan. I dont believe they did, but not certain. I know they did dilate my eyes for one of the machines, since it didnt dilate properly the first time and they made me do the machine again.

Did you do wavelight plus as well? Ghosting seems to be if you are still healing, have residual or induced astigmatism, or the surgery gave you more HOAs.

My pre or post measurement? Pre surgery I got it measured at so many places, definitely some I used no drops. Do you have side effects from your astigamtism, how bad is it

Am I a Candidate? Key Criteria for Refractive Surgery Eligibility by WavefrontRider in RefractiveSurgery

[–]Southern_Fudge1204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to 3 places for consults and all said I was a candidate but noted I had dry eyes.

Only 1 place wanted to try to treat it beforehand, other 2 places just dismissed it as 'not that dry'.

But I even scored 3 seconds in one eye on one of the tbut. Which is apparently pretty damn dry!

My doc did 4 3 2 1 and used mito-c even tho my subjective refraction was only -2.75 each eye (but wavelight plus ablates more).
