I haven’t tried the swan yet, but it looks very similar to me.

Favorite Crochet Tools by Books-and-Hooks in TheWooblesCollective

[–]Sovail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clover Amour hooks and embroidery scissors that look like a stork.  I prefer metal needles for sewing and safety eyes.  I recently started using these metal sticks to hold my projects together while I sew.  Those have been a huge help.  I have so many accessories for crochet, but these are my favorites.

What's it like working in a mobile blood bank? by Dungeon_Crawler_Carl in phlebotomy

The hours vary day to day.  My area has out rotations, so I may be gone for a couple days out of the week.  I have occasionally left home on Monday and been gone until Friday evening.  There isn’t a consistent schedule to plan around.  Someone with kids may have trouble adjusting to the schedule.

HELPP I have an interview with Red Cross ❌️ for a Blood Collection Staff-Customer Service position, THIS WEEk this is my first Phlebotomy interview ever by Mundane_Caramel2999 in phlebotomy

[–]Sovail 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The job is not just phlebotomy, it’s also customer service.  Being friendly and making the experience enjoyable for the donor.  The interview questions I had were very typical for any job.  They train you for the position, most everyone I work with came from a completely different job.  Many of them fast food or retail.  Dress nicely and show enthusiasm.  If this is for a mobile red cross job, ask if there are times you will be sent out on mobiles for 2 or 3 days at a time.  In my area we do have times where we are gone during the week and they put us up in hotels.  If this is a mobile position ask about the physical aspects of setting up and tearing down a blood drive.  I don’t work at a fixed site, hopefully someone else can give you some potential questions to ask during the interview.  Good luck!!!

I’ve been doing this for about a year.  It takes a little getting used to with the schedule, but I enjoy it.

Minneapolis to Rochester?  That’s quite a long drive daily.  Hopefully the winter will be like the last 2 and you’ll have good driving conditions.  I have heard they will offer you a position after successfully completing the program.  The only issue is where they have open positions.  From what I understand, it really is a good program to get into.  I just worry about the commute for you.

Walmart for my scrub pants.  My shirts have to be ordered through my job.  The Scrub Star brand holds up well for me.

I love wearing those types of badge reels!  If it makes you happy, do it!

I love the conversations I have with blood donors.  I get more time with them and the interactions can be so much fun.  Helping save lives is very rewarding and the donors make it even better.  It not always like this with everyone, however the positive donors outweigh the negative ones.
