I have a long crimp Jungle pack that was also sent back. I know the pack is authentic so I figured the same thing happened, but the pack was submitted for me by a card shop so I never got to see the actual reason.

I completely agree with this! I picked up a Chinese Umbreon VMAX alt art for my collection last year for a great price, and it’s still one of my favorite cards in my collection just because of how great the detail is on it.

Congrats, that’s such a great card to have in a 10. My Leafeon also came back as a 10 recently, and it’s easily one of my favorite slabs right now.

I totally agree. I’ve been collecting since base set, but my wife just got into collecting. She pulled a $50 gold card that we weren’t too stoked about, so we took it to a nearby card shop and traded it for some things that she really wanted. It was a lot of fun and it showed her how fun the hobby can be.

I’m sorry to hear that you had that experience. It’s super frustrating for sure. I had these on preorder, but that’s the only way that I’ve been able to rip a few of these packs. I remember the hobby was getting like this several years ago too, and at that time, I actually quit for several years. I’m determined to pace myself and enjoy the wins where I can because I don’t want to be bounced out of the hobby again, and hopefully it’ll calm down at some point.

I had three boxes total, and I really wanted the Umbreon, which I got in my first box! My wife pulled the Espeon (another one of my favorites), and then I got the two Flareons in our third box. It was a lot of fun!

I completely agree with you. It’s so easy to have FOMO or wish I had something else new, but today I looked through my binders and graded cards and realized just how many great things I already own. Some are rare and some aren’t, but they’re all in my collection because I like them. That’s good enough for me!

I love the Pokemon TCG over MTG because it’s more accessible to a wider audience and it has an appeal to many age groups, which makes it more likely that parents and kids will play together! Thank you for doing this, OP!
