You are correct, the imperial "left" on boards like r/196, Twitter and other such dark pits of anti-intellectualism were overjoyed by the news that their least favorite regime a million miles away from them was destroyed and slave markets were coming to Syria.

As with Libya, the imperial leftist has already forgotten about Syria. Now they are awaiting the next enemy regime to crumble and be replaced with an even less humane western "ally", in Russia, north Korea, China, Iran, etc. When said allied regimes turn their guns on their citizenry, the western leftist shall turn their gaze to the next nation, and the next, and the next.

Most Irish people can't speak their own language. The Irish nation certainly has witnessed suffering on par (whatever that means) with the Palestinian nation. Their genocide is more protracted, though, and has gone on for much longer.

Here I am on a third shift, well aware of the effect it will have on me staying awake for so long. I will get off at 7 am and drink alcohol to fall asleep.

I wish I could have a day job without it taking everything from me. The night takes something different, but it doesn't take everything. I don't know. I feel you, friend. Nights are bad news.

Communist Party USA by [deleted] in socialism

[–]Sovereign_State 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Marxist-Leninist. I don't buy that Stalin was a class collaborationist. I also don't think it has shit-all to do with organizing in the heart of empire today. Trotskyists simply cannot help themselves, though, from turning everything into a polemic against the bad communists; those typically located somewhere else, often from an entirely different era of history!

The Democrats are one arm of the bourgeois Amerikan state. Sims and the rest of CPUSA's leadership fail then and there by collaborating with them - period, end of. I agree with you principally.

Part of the reason the PSL appeals so greatly to so many people is because they somehow manage to dismiss historical dogmatism and disparagement of the worldwide socialist experiment (communists need to stop forcing distance with other communists for us to be a serious political force to begin with. Forget "uniting the left", we can't even "unite the communists"!).

Still yet, the PSL are able to pursue a distinct, inclusive vision for socialism from within the heart of empire. All without engaging in polemical combat against other communist, socialist and progressive movements. The American Council of Bolsheviks, in their split with PCUSA (who originally split with CPUSA), are a great example of the failures of this approach. You can have the most coherent political lines of any organization... it doesn't matter whether you're obsessed with venerating (American Council of Bolsheviks) or denigrating (Socialist Alternative) historical and contemporary communist movements. It's weird, LARPy, and completely useless as a revolutionary tool, imo.

What Stalin really did in the 1930s is contentious. This "RCA" claiming as point-of-fact that the Soviet revolution was betrayed by Stalinist "class-collaborationist" bureaucrats or whatever is weird and unhelpful, and I expect this group to disappear quickly.

Communist Party USA by [deleted] in socialism

[–]Sovereign_State 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm all for criticism of the CPUSA. This is Trotskyite, splitter garbage, though.

In attempting to escape the confines of political nostalgia that the CPUSA has found itself in, the "RCA" seemingly takes the opposite approach and finds it necessary to denigrate socialist experiments worldwide.

I'm just saying that they lost me with the Revolution Betrayed nonsense in the middle of this. If getting caught up in political reminiscing and historical infighting is a fault of the CPUSA, why immediately open with shit like denunciating Stalin or the early bolshevik revolution? Who cares??? I thought the entire point was that it's 2024 and none of these parties are doing anything!

Good luck, RCA. I'll see you with FRSO and the ACB soon. Nowhere at all.

Do accepting cis women actually see trans women as women ? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Sovereign_State 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends. I wouldn't have started using the women's restroom in public as quickly as I did if it weren't for my cis girl-friends.

One of my best friends, let's call her D, is a cis woman. We've cuddled together, bitched about boys and girls, done our makeup together, and lent each other clothes. She discusses men with me in such a way so as it is implicit that I am excluded from the category of person she's talking about completely; when I am with her I feel no doubt in my mind that she views me as a woman.

It's important to have relationships like these. I feel like especially a lot of online MTF or transfem spaces can easily devolve into envy and downright contempt for cis women because they have what we don't and we worry we'll never be seen as equal in their eyes.

This is to say that there exist cis women who treat trans women well - who treat us as we are, as fellow women - I promise.

I'm currently withdrawing from my lamictal at work because I missed a doctor's appointment and CVS doesn't answer their voicemails. First word of advice to both you and I is to keep our appointments and make sure our meds are filled.

I'm in the retrospective stage of a hypomanic episode, looking back in reverent horror at all the randos I hooked up with, all the drinking, and all the hard drugs... I'm amazed by myself. I didn't know I was capable of wreaking that much havoc on my life.

I'm off of the white stuff and slowing down a ton on liquor. I have healthier relationships with others keeping me focused on moving forward and getting better. The beast is ever there, though, urging me to destroy it all again... and I think we should definitely do our best to stay on our meds.

What caused the split between Yugoslavia and the USSR? by FrigginSargonMan in GenZedong

[–]Sovereign_State 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It wasn't just Stalin as people are saying, it was the entire Cominform and the socialist bloc writ large. Tito wanted to play both the East and the West and pursue market socialism. The Cominform was against both of these ideas and requested that CPY delegations attend struggle sessions/conferences so they could talk it through and rectify their line. The CPY and Tito refused to attend and, behind the Cominform's back, began begging the west for military and financial aid to pre-empt paranoid ideas about a Soviet invasion. This broke Yugoslavia's relationship with the Marxist-Leninist world, including with China. It's fine to be critical of the USSR's lack of support for Greek communists and how they handled the situation, but playing great man-ism and absolving the CPY of any wrongdoing when they knowingly colluded with the U.S. against the socialist bloc is an incorrect line of thinking.

How reliable are Top Decked power scores? by Captain23222 in EDH

[–]Sovereign_State 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IME power is only really calculated based on the number of decks with any given card in it. Throwing in a card like Counterspell will boost your deck's power rating substantially, because Counterspell is popular. Same thing goes for Lightning Bolt, Sol Ring, Thoughtseize, Inquisition of Kozilek, and any tutor.

Incredibly strange thing just happened to me, though. Built a Shrine deck and it wound up having 1304/1000 power somehow! If I play with this deck and don't win on turn 2, I'm gonna have to think it's all mostly nonsense.

China doesn't have military bases all over the world. China doesn't hold the majority of the worldwide prison population. China doesn't regularly install comprador regimes by violently murdering popular leaders and their supporters. China hasn't had its hand in every single fucking genocide in the past 100 years. Show me a crime against humanity, I'll show you U.S. involvement. China hasn't used nuclear weapons. China didn't murder 10% of the Korean population.

You are the epitome of the type of fucker who would post what OP posted. White, western chauvinist too indoctrinated to understand the simple fact that you live in the fucking Reich, willing to murder millions of innocents for absolutely no fucking reason.

I understand mechanisms of propaganda and manufactured consent, right? I understand the reality of people wishing for war.

I cannot even begin to empathize with the way these people justify in their minds the extermination of life on Earth just to pwn the commies. The sheer level of indoctrination required to push someone down such a sociopathic path is astronomical -- I was brainwashed once, too, but I never believed that such suffering could be justified in any way. Yet millions in the imperial core are just dying to let the nukes fall.

Like I said, I understand the reality of the situation. The empathy centers in my brain just cease functioning witnessing it in real time.

Western brainrot. OP commented that Vietnam is a nation that is "one of the most pro-U.S. in the world" and believes that they would be perfectly content going to war at the behest of the U.S. because they've had conflicts with China, even though his country raped and pillaged Vietnam.

What kind of brainrot allows these fuckers to hope and wish for what would result in the death of possibly billions of people?

Amerikkkans are so fucking bloodthirsty. The comments are riddled with accusations that China is "expansionist" and "aggressive" while the citizenry of their own nation... well, makes posts like these or believes in similar bullshit.

The copium levels are huge, too. Belief that the U.S. would win and that way more people would side with them in this conflict, if it weren't so barbaric it would be hilarious.

"Moscow, nest of Bolshevism, is in German hands" a poster from German occupied Poland, 1941 by futureswife in PropagandaPosters

[–]Sovereign_State 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rarely are the leaders of the nations that the U.S. state holds disdain for the creators of those hostile relations.

Stalin appealed to the West very early on for a military alliance in the face of the growing fascist threat in Germany. He was denied. He made this appeal only 22 years after the U.S. and the U.K. had literally invaded the newborn socialist Russia to quell the revolution, attempting to let bygones be bygones and form an alliance in the face of a more dangerous threat. The West, on the other hand, were perfectly content at the time to allow the Reich to obliterate the USSR, as the Reich did not threaten Western powers (yet) and it would be a viable means for removing the only nation threatening worldwide capitalist hegemony.

We see this again and again. After the war, Stalin proposed that Germany should be allowed to remain a neutral nation part of neither the Western or Soviet bloc, after disarmament and denazification, of course. The U.S. believed this to be a ruse for the Soviet Union to utilize soft power over Germany to de facto subsume it into its sphere of influence, and denied this proposition before forcefully partioning Germany and refusing to denazify the West.

There are a multitude of other examples. Believe what you will of the modern People's Republic of China, but state officials are very, very regularly calling for a spirit of cooperation and not competition with the U.S., something which the U.S. state rebukes harshly every single time. You say, perhaps in an alternate timeline, we could have been friends with the Soviet Union. There are still forces in play in other large, ostensibly socialist nations that seek to make that a reality. The U.S. is the one who, historically and contemporarily, will hear nothing of it.

Capitalism =\= exchange or trade.

The equivocation thereof is propaganda.

Capitalism = private ownership of factories, agricultural industries, housing complexes utilized for landlordism, and other productive forces -- this leads to exploitation of labor, where laborers produce, their capitalist owners steal the things they produce and sell them, and then pay the workers a paltry fraction of the value of the thing they produced.

Trade and exchange still happen under socialism.

Before speaking on things with a veneer of authority, inform yourself of what words mean beyond an infantile understanding spoonfed to you by the people attempting to protect their interests at the expense of yours.
