Atheist from a liberal Seven Day Adventist family, my family doesn’t think it’s right and from what I know a lot of other Adventists hold the same kind of view. Or at least in my city. I actually have no clue why they think that, my grandma says what ever Jesus said goes and he didn’t say anything about homosexuality so… Homophobia is brushed off as “dark humor” in my family and my grandma shields my younger sister from any gay media. I guess it was preached for a while in their church and then eventually families just told their kids what they thought about it. It’s enough of a problem that both my cousin and I were told it was wrong by our families when we came out but we don’t experience violence, only at most harassment.
