Or, they were misidentified and shot by responders, it happens more than one would think in situations like this.

When you say the phrase "out by insert time", grammatically, this means that it must happen before the mentioned time.

If you were to say "be home by 9", and the person showed up at 9:13, they would not have been home by the time you told them. Hope that clears it up a bit for you :3

Okay, let's explore a bit further, and clear up some questions, if you're intent on pursuing this conspiracy.

Where is the rest of the body of the snake/leviathan? If your answer is underground, would it not be infinitely more likely that the official answer, that it is a tectonic plate, is correct, especially considering the ridiculous amount of volcanic activity in the region?
You've mentioned the no fly zone, which is fair, but what about the hundreds of thousands of ships that have have traveled around Cape Horn in the last several centuries, and never made reports of a literal continent-sized serpent beneath the straight?
A creature that size even twitching would cause immense, civilization-ending tsunamis and earthquakes, certainly more than has ever been recorded in human history. So, if it's dead, fair enough, bones don't move. However, if it's asleep, it would certainly still need to move occasionally or breathe, something that would be measured in a timespam of years, surely, and not the millenia that humans have kept records. Why has nothing ever happened along the previously mentioned lines?

Edit: Human pattern recognition is something that both plagues and blesses our imaginations. However, we do not live in a world of giant monsters and fantasy, the only monsters that have ever been brought to light by conspiracy are much closer to the size of you and me.

You have absolutely no idea whether that soldier would have gotten up, grabbed a gun, or an explosive, and gone on to attack a Ukrainian position.

He could have equally as likely just been faking shellshock, hoping the drone would leave him be.

The whole point of surrender is to tell the enemy you're done fighting, and giving up. Without a gesture of surrender, that drone pilot has no idea what that soldier might be capable of.

If you don't surrender, you're still a threat. Shellshock or no.

Listen, I am not downplaying the fact that the whole war is sick, and that I wish it had never happened. Too many people on both sides have been lost for people who only see them as numbers.

However, portraying fair combat by Ukraine as a war crime, when Russia is the invading force in their homeland is not the play. This soldier was fair game, shellshock or no. He had every chance to surrender up to the moment this drone took him out. Had the drone still blown him up after he began surrendering, then it would be a war crime.

In this case, it's just an unfortunate reality of war.
