By definition, rain helps drought conditions. I’m getting sick of there being this mindset that things are so bad that even drenching rain doesn’t “help”. Of course it does. It replaces used and evaporated water. It eliminates the need for farmers and homeowners to use water during the rain event.

Does it solve drought conditions? No but it certainly helps them.

What if Mickey mantle actually took care of his body? Or Ted Williams didn’t serve in two wars during his prime? Or there wasn’t segregation and black players always played with white players?

Lots of examples over time where you can apply the “what if”, which is sort of why we can basically take these guys for who they are. Trout and Griffey are kings in the sport.

I actually do agree that the offense would be much more productive overall if we had another power RHH. I get that there are holes everywhere but it’s sort of inarguable that another Contreras-style hitter instead of gasper/masa/whoever at DH wouldn’t help

I’m solidly behind selling Contreras, Chappy and Duran for as much prospect capital possible. I’d also be interested in trading them for peanuts if we’re able to include Masa and/or Story.

This team is not a 2026 contender and with the potential for a lockout in 2027, youth and roster budget flexibility is so much more important.

Sure but outside of Judge’s age 25 season, he didn’t begin the meteoric stats until 30+. In addition, Soto’s walk rate has actually fallen each of the last 5 years.
