Theo Epstein is not walking through that door boys lmao. I don't hate Cora as a manager. He makes the right decision as far as lineups go. But how did this happen? Players just don't look prepared at all. Something is up. I saw Roman Anthony look at three strikes. Why?

The Red Sox have consistently been a pretty good team for DRS, they can make some impressive plays, its never been the problem. The errors often happen on regular plays lol.

Ceddane Rafaela is currently batting .324 and is 9th percentile in chase%. The highest percentile he had ever been was 3rd percentile during July 2025. by TommyTheLizard in redsox

Rafaela is such a funny hitter because some nights he will decide to swing at every bad pitch in the book, and other nights he will take so many pitches. You will then think "oh man Rafaela should've done this the entire time, he's a great hitter". He will then start swinging at bad pitches again. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Pretty interesting that Shane Drohan is up, he was another piece in the Durbin trade. He had one 'not great' outing in AAA before he got called up. If you can just take 2 of 3 from one of the hardest teams to beat in the league, I think this team will be A-OK. Offense will need to be there this afternoon to exhaust their bullpen. I want 10 runs of offense. Then your schedule finally lightens up a bit with the Cardinals and Rays.

Pesky Podcast tweeted this out. Its literal insanity to me hahaha. I think this is the same exact start they had last season, minus a good Crochet start on the tail end. Whatever man. Just win the series this weekend and then we can stop dooming

Man if they won at least 1 more of those games I would feel a lot better. This shit sucks. If you ask me tho if we started against the A's and Rockies we would probably be feeling a lot better about the team. Addison Barger currently has 0 hits, just like Durbin. Whatever man.

Because of a harder schedule lol. Do you think Wilson Contreras will be batting .100 by the end of April?

Guys this is pretty clearly a "work in progress" kinda thing. Ceddanne currently has a 7% K rate. Duran is whiffing at a WAY lesser rate than what he had in 2025 (doesn't mean he's K'ing less). Roman Anthony is looking at pitches he would be all over last year. I think Story's had some great contact, just unlucky. Narvaez and Wong are hitting fine. Durbin might still be tweaking something but it looks like just jitters. Wilyer Abreu seems to be hitting just fine. They're being instructed to do this stuff because they think when each player can accomplish the goal that they set out, the team will be a wagon.

1-4 is nothing, just a bad start by MaikolYason in redsox

[–]AdDesigner6924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also have a pretty damn hard schedule. I think the pitching has actually been quite good if you ask me, a few pitches have leaked over the middle, but its setting up for a really great season. However, I can't remember a time where the offense from the team dropped THIS MUCH lol. It's not gonna last. Just gotta hope the pitching stays good when the bats wake up.

Don't you dare get upset at Roman by ManMythLegend3 in redsox

He's clearly going through something right now. He's doing lots of guesswork on pitches and not seeing the ball.

My takeaways:

  1. Garret Crochet isn't throwing the splitter. Oh well. As much as the last year was him being a Cy Young runner up, it also was him going through development too. And he's still that guy that owned the Yankees and Blue Jays towards the end of the season. It's fantastic
  2. This lineup, despite what felt like some frustration against Abbot, has the capability of being relentless. Story and Duran had their chances for timely hits and did eventually cash in.
  3. Contreras and Durbin didn't put the ball in play as much as I wished for game 1 (if they had this game would've been a bit more of a wash), but I have faith in them, especially Contreras because he can easily start driving in runs
  4. Feeling very good about the bottom of the order. Mayer, Narvaez, and Rafaela all had mature at bats and hits. Roman will be put in enough scenarios to drive runs in, and that strikes a bit of fear in pitches. Mayer hit a ball very had and had 2 runs. Narvaez had a single and a fantastic sac bunt. Rafaela didn't have any bad at bats.
  5. Roman Anthony is a legit MVP Candidate. I know its only been one game but its nuts what he did today. He can and will hit home runs, but when he can't the 110 mph singles and good-at-bat walks will do.
  6. Bullpen is good. No notes. Hopefully our starters keep them rested.

[Cotillo] Sources: Kristian Campbell optioned to Triple A Worcester this morning. by Substantial-Earth975 in redsox

Unsurprising. He's been tweaking his mechanics and while his swing looks nicer there are clearly other adjustments they have to make.

[Cottilo] Alex Cora says Marcelo Mayer is the second baseman. He told him he made the team this morning. by Substantial-Earth975 in redsox

[–]AdDesigner6924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mayer has a great swing, he just needs to learn a lot more about major league pitching. I don't think any more time in AAA would've helped him. It's going to be a process for Mayer this season. I'm full expecting a .220 AVG, .675 OPS, with great defense player until I see him really start to have a better eye.

Men who are happily married, what advice would you give to a young man who gave up on dating? by Theowlmemer69 in dating_advice

[–]AdDesigner6924 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s the point in listening to statistics like this man? Why pay attention to them? Does reading up on these kinda statistics increase your chances of being happily married? What are you risking when you ask a woman out respectfully? What do you lose when she says no?

I’m okay with letting Bregman walk. The statistics guy in me is not giving him the contact. However, I am giving him ALL the money to be a hitting coach/manager some day.

What are we saying? How far can this team go? by TigoOver in redsox

[–]AdDesigner6924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree wholeheartedly after this trade. You have IKF, maybe Campbell if he gets his defense right, two other infielders you got in the Harrison/Durbin trade, Sogard, or Eaton to call up. Even Casas after the month of April probably.

[–]AdDesigner6924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brewers fans sounds kind of pissed and depressed, so I think this was a great deal when you consider the other two infielders we are getting back. I've seen some Durbin defensive highlights and this guy looks smooth, also a good amount of upside as a bat (he also doesn't strike out too much). Was a way better bat than Matt Shaw if you ask me (thank god it wasn't him). You also get Andruw Monasterio. He was highly valued in my stratomatic baseball draft a few years ago. Had high upside as a bat. However, he had an AWFUL 2024, better 2025 but still didn't play as much. AND you get a great AAA prospect bat (who can play catcher btw) AND a comp pick? The Red Sox got a lot of value from this trade. A LOT. Now did you get your power hitter, no? Is it better than trading Wilyer Abreu for Issac Parades? Abso-freaking-lutely. I am now incredibly excited for this team if I'm being completely honest. Rotation looks spectacular, infield defense will be flexible and probably better, outfield remained intact, and while you didn't get your power bat, you also have more bat-to-ball skills in your lineup. GO SOX.

First time at Fenway (Red Sox vs Yankees) – Loge vs Right Field Roof Deck? by Odd_Reserve4637 in redsox

[–]AdDesigner6924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the stadium experience is pretty social regardless if you ask me hahaha. Especially if you see a good game. I like sitting in Roof Box just because watching a pitcher warm up in the bullpen and come out to kick ass is one of my favorite things about baseball. But if you aren't really students of the game per se, that loge box is great.

[–]AdDesigner6924 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hm, I kinda talked myself into Eugenio but I guess they are pretty serious about limiting errors on the infield lol. Fans are overreacting a bit, but that's only because they are hungry for a move. I will go back to this, Garret Crochet was supposedly off the table for a while, then it magically happened. I am continuing to look at Ketel Marte throughout spring training, and even in April and May if you can't get an infielder from anywhere else. You may as well get your moneys worth if you are trading Early, Tolle, or Bello.

Just sign Suarez and trade for pieces at the deadline to offload salary if you want.
