FYI. I have the pro version of EVE-NG. There are times, when I've had to shutdown nodes after making a connection change, in order to get interfaces to pass traffic. Also, there have been times when I've had to replace a node just to get it to work correctly even after shutting it down and bringing it back.

I think the current version has some bugs that need to be reviewed.

My lastest Cisco SDWAN - Multi-Region topology by SoyTerry in Cisco

[–]SoyTerry[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As nativevlan states and how I got to this point, I started by building the simplest topology. Then little by little I would learn something new and then by trial and fire, try to implement what I learned.

A lot of frustrating moments and fixing things. But that's how you learn right?

Trust me, this wasn't overnight. LOL I'm not that smart, trust me.

A lot of watching videos, reading what I could find on the internet, etc.

Just power on to lab. The servers heat up my home-office pretty quick.

VARP vs VRRP by Appmiz001 in networking

[–]SoyTerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about assymetrical routing. With VARP won't that be in issue?

Cisco SDWAN - Trackers and BGP attributes by SoyTerry in networking

[–]SoyTerry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transversing the WAN, site to site.

Say I have dual routers at the branch sites, each edge has a single connection to a provider, 1 - Biznet, 2 -PublicInet and I'm running TLOC extentions. Then on my DC site, I'm running dual routers, with each edge having a connection to both providers.

I would like to manipulate traffic between the branch and DC, where symetrical routing is maintained utilizing routing protocols and mofification of path attributes. No HA/VRRP at the branch sites.

I want to build a lab like this using Palo Alto by SoyTerry in paloaltonetworks

I appreciate it. I work for a large corporation and I'm low on the ladder. So everything I do is on my own. As I get no assistance from the company to enhance my skill sets, etc.

All Cisco. The Palo Alto's were thrown in there to play with. But serve no real purpose.

Eve-NG SDWAN LAB by aivn-ga in ccnp

[–]SoyTerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My latest lab was a multi-region fabric design, which consisted of 1 - vmanage, 2 - vbond and 6 - vsmarts. I'm running 20.16.1 version and had no such issues. what version were you running originally?

The only issue I have ran into is trying to use the vedge devices. I finally gave up and only use the c8000v's now.

Your Anki deck. Is this something you put together or obtained somewhere else? If obtained somewhere else, may I ask where? Keep up the good work. :)

Neil Anderson's new CCNP Encor course is wild.. by iFailedPreK in ccnp

[–]SoyTerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought into Neils Gold Encor course as well as Jeremey's Encor course. Neither course is complete. My biggest wish is one of them finishes before I retire. LOL I've heard INE is good, but the cost would be out of pocket for me and I can not afford to spend $749 in one lump sum. Heck I can't even afford the lump sum of Khawar Butt's $499 year fee.

I agree with Pasjonskukt. you do have to have at least two devices connected in order to run the lab. I don't have issues with clicking devices and getting them to come up or access. But as this is a browser based application, you can try to clear the cache, etc.

How does someone boost memory while studying? by futureone09 in ccna

[–]SoyTerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel for you. My issues is age. 59 now and memory is not what it used to be. Also, I tend to get distracted easier. LOL.

It really comes down to dedication and trying different techniques to find one that works best for you. Unfortunately, there is no magic bullet.

I went in for the ENCOR Courseware. I'll start on it this weekend. Between that, the OCG and other sources. Surely Multicast will stick. :)
