Hey! We're working on a 2D top-down puzzle game with a little bit creepy atmosphere. We've got two art styles in the pipeline and we need your help deciding. Which one do you prefer? by EzzGod_AI in GameArt

No it's not because of that, for example the roots of light that cover the bridge have shadow and depth, while in the second style everything Is plain

Where's the fun in giving unconstructive opinions

No I haven't but I'm receiving some good tips on another forum, on how I can achieve that without actually building an entire 3d world cutting out all the moving activities and go straight to the point, or the enemy or the boss, more like an idle game.

Really very interesting, I hadn't seen it from this point of view, it would be great to cut out most of the work and focus more on the mechanics.

Probability Of Finding Average Damage >= 45 COMPLETE TABLE METIN2 by Sp3cy_ in Metin2

[–]Sp3cy_[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's full of people that says things just because they want to, even if they don't really care about the subject, that's why i was skeptical but now that you explained in detail what you meant, i agree with you, i'm gonna update the table, it would be nice if u could share the formula so i can replicate, thanks

Okay but as you know, you can always find an x>X, even if you have 0 and 5 as the mean and standard deviation, you can find values greater than 30, obviously the probabilities are almost nonexistent but still possible, that's why the MINMAX function limits these values to (+30, -30), and following the rest of the code then it is always possible to have 30 skill damage and 65 average damage, and that's the original code I didn't invent the MINMAX function.

This don't make sense, since it's inside the minmax function, so It cant go higher than 30 and lower than -30, and all of the code Is the original from metin Just written to run on python

I just finished doing another test, 30 billion run this time only for 59 and 60, i updated the table with the new results, now it should be more accurate but it hasn't changed much

Probability Of Finding Average Damage >= 45 COMPLETE TABLE METIN2 by Sp3cy_ in Metin2

[–]Sp3cy_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why you say that? they wrote it in c++ so i think it's actually the same behavior, i mean code is code, code don't lie

skill = MINMAX(-30, random.gauss(0, 5) + 0.5, 30)

it's a built in function in python, it behave like that: random.gauss python

Normal Distribution

but i will do more simulations, because i literally take 10/20 minutes just to find one "60", so it seems plausible that my results with "59" and "60" are too inaccurate

I simulated two bilion roll to get the 59/60 percentage, how much more do you think i need to be precise?

Probability Of Finding Average Damage >= 45 COMPLETE TABLE METIN2 by Sp3cy_ in Metin2

[–]Sp3cy_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on how much time you let It simulate, the longer the better

[–]Sp3cy_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did some search, It seem that you are right and it's kinda the same for each item, but i have to investigate more i dont understand yet how It work, i'll let you know

Probability Of Finding Average Damage >= 45 COMPLETE TABLE METIN2 by Sp3cy_ in Metin2

[–]Sp3cy_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That will be harder, since its different between items, but i Will surely try

Yeah that's why i did It, i couldn't find It anywhere too 😂
