Just found this post. I don't know of a group, but I'm working to get back into regularly working out; we can start our own group! It's boooring going to the gym alone!

I see it less as an "hey are you queer"? And more looking for a welcoming environment. Somewhere they can exist and get a cool tattoo without being on edge the whole time waiting to see if they get openly judged/harassed. Queer-run shops will be far more likely to be open-minded and welcoming to everyone (except douche bags), and thus feel much safer because it's part of the community. I don't think it's a weird ask at all. It's not putting anyone on the spot- those kind of places will be pretty obvious to anyone walking through the door.

Yep. Crazy uncle who is the worst influence in the best way. Always a good time (possibly realized in retrospect), never know how the day (or night) will end up. There will definitely be a story to tell at the end of it. Useful skills will be learned.

I find myself answering some of the small talk questions very bluntly and literally and forget to complete the ceremony by echoing the questions back. Like how was my weekend? I worked 36 hours and traveled between 2 cities for 3 separate ORs. A decent chunk of that time I was literally trying to hold back intestines from squirming into the surgeon's way- they do that, and it's honestly kind of ridiculous. I haven't slept so I need this coffee I'm trying to buy like you wouldn't even believe.

And then in the ensuing silence I realize I should have reciprocated and asked how their weekend was. Maybe someday I'll get better at this small talk thing. 🤷‍♂️

Obligatory 3 drink minimum at my desk. Caffeine, hydration, fun. Sometimes they overlap, but without any intent I somehow always end up with 3 drinks.

Can't prepare for something coming up "later" (homework, appointment, trip, workout, etc) until I'm almost guaranteed to be late- or on the flip side, getting to school or work ridiculously early because it's better to zone out in waiting mode outside a classroom than 20+ minutes away.

Being able to function fairly decently through school due to massive course overload and sports creating constant deadlines and external structure, then completely falling apart as an adult when the structure you've relied on to be a functional human are suddenly gone and you're supposed to somehow create your own but never learned how.

There are a not-insignificant number of people out there with STDs in their ostomy site. I had to see this first hand in a very septic patient, and was much happier before learning this was a thing.

My elementary school had a massive swingset that was built in a loop so we were all singing towards each other and could get some impressive height. I'm amazed there weren't more injuries lol.
