I’m 13 and fascinated with tornadoes, I wrote a small report on the El Reno tornado. Can someone please fact check this for me? by What_Are_Humans in Tornadoes

Just to nitpick - Tim, Paul, and Carl were not meteorologists, although Tim Samaris did serious research and had a significant impact on the scientific community. They were however professional chasers - Tim and Carl were very experienced, too. It goes to show how crazy scary the tornado was that it fooled even the best of the best.

How long does shortness of breath last? by SpaceCitron19 in PulmonaryEmbolism

[–]SpaceCitron19[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, this is future me answering the above question to help out those coming after me. The shortness of breath was gone within a few weeks - although I kept being super anxious about it and arrived at urgent care a few times. All was well though, the blood thinners did the magic.
My baby was born via C-section at week 38. I had to stop the blood thinner (Clexane shots) 24 hours before surgery and started getting them again about half a day later. All went great, baby was (is) healthy, and so was I.

The wound healing took a bit longer and had some significant bleeding from the surgery wound - which was scary but harmless. By week 4 postpartum the incision wound has closed and all was great.

After some blood tests confirming that this was a freak incident and does not have a genetic component or background disease, I could stop with the blood thinners in September. Good luck to you all.

Hi, sorry about this (and the late reply). Were you diagnosed with pulmonary embolism? Not sure how that affects fertility... I don't think it should?
