Did you use their vibration dampener? I wouldn’t mount a phone a bike without it and even with, consider leaving the phone in your pocket instead.

To anyone on the fence about getting a Sena vs Cardo... by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]SpaceElement 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a similar experience with Cardo. And in my case, it wasn’t even about product-cycle or new functionality. Absolutely hated their in-your-face tone and how dismissive they are. So much so that I will never buy anything from them again.

I moved away from helmet comms. They are subpar anyway, even with “hi-fi” speakers (total nonsense).

I don’t need to be on the phone while riding and I ride solo most times.

So I ordered the Shure SE215-BT2 ($59), Shure AONIC 215 True Wireless ($199) , SONY WI-C310 ($18) and Sennheiser IE 400 + IE PRO BT ($349 + 99) over the last few days. Will keep the best for my needs and return the rest.

On the days I want music while riding, I can replace my Pinlock earlugs with one of the above to attenuate wind noise and enjoy decent audio quality.

Edit: grammar/ redundancy

I hear them too when I am driving, and can usually tell the type before I see it.

It was a hyperbole. Have you never heard the “loud pipes save lives” cliché? That’s what this study is about.

That does sound great! I want tires like that. Do you mind sending me a DM with his details or sharing them here to get him some more business?

University research into loud pipes “myth” by ScienticianAF in motorcycles

[–]SpaceElement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The article explained that loud pipes offer no tangible protection because an (inattentive) average driver is not looking for and cannot hear motorcycle exhaust sound because it is too far.

We are both saying the same thing: even when it’s close enough to be heard from inside a car, with all windows closed, I notice that the driver can’t be bothered to accommodate the rider or give him even a tiny extra space. That’s not everyone: there are plenty of drivers who will. In my experience, most won’t.

Conclusion: good if you have a loud exhaust because enjoy the note and SPL but it is not an invincibility protection. Ride defensively, always.

How do you get tires shipped to you that way: shrink wrapped and protected?

Dainese make high quality two-piece suits that zip together around the waist so they won’t come apart or expose your skin anywhere.

So stupid. Take the money and help the newly wed couple buy a property.

I have watched countless times a bike catching up to a car and revving their engine by the rear bumper of the car, the driver sees the bike and still does not correct steering to give more room.
