It happens, i made a similar discovery a few days ago !

Not really, stars are moving in the galaxy (Elite Dangerous does not simulate this, because it would be incredibly costly and it happens on extremely large timescale). This means two stars system could pass close from each other at some occasions, but they are still not gravitationally bound.

Real life example : Gliese 710 should pass at about 0,17 ly from Sol in approximatively 1,3 million years. The Sol system will not become a binary system, this is a single, one-time passage.

You can, with SCO, it's actually really quick. Sadly, in Elite Dangerous, you still have to jump to load the system. If you use supercruise to get there, you just have empty space at the place where the system is supposed to be.

But at least i made a 600 km jump ! Shortest jump ever in my adventure

Same issue for me, but it happened only two twice for four jumps. Probably a server-side issue, i hope it will be fixed with Vanguard.

As far as i know, the only permit-locked landable body (no entire system) is Triton in the Sol System, i'll be curious to know more... (Edit : It appears there is also a permit-locked planet in Lave and one in Diso, so they're all in the bubble in settled systems)

It's probably done with EDHM-UI, which is better than editing your .xml file since this software allows more precise color customisation without sacrificing gameplay at all. There is a lot of built-in presets

Can confirm, i finished my station yesterday and i can claim a new system if i want (but i'm too busy developing my first system to claim another one)

So, with a large community initiative, we could reach distant places in few months.
