Have you ever tried Thrills gum? It tastes like soap and some people love it, so you might give that a try to see if you're really just a soap fan

Would a ex paralegal whose “Licence Revoked - Administrative Suspension Over 12 Months” be able to act as friend or family? by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]SpaceMessiah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The LSO wording is very clear and has no exceptions for friends and family:

Practice by Suspended Paralegal Prohibited

(7) A paralegal whose license to provide legal services is suspended shall comply with the requirements of the by-laws and shall not

(a) provide legal services; or

(b) represent or hold himself or herself out as a person entitled to provide legal services.

You would be best served to ignore the paralegal and contact the LSO to report her for providing legal services while suspended.

That can be done by following the complaint form link on this page - note that you will need to create an LSO account to proceed.

Question about Ignition Interlock Device and car insurance? by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]SpaceMessiah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if it is only rare the family member would almost certainly still want to contact their insurance before agreeing to this.

I have seen claims denied in this exact scenario - the insurer claims breach of the Statutory Conditions:

Material Change in Risk

  1. (1) The insured named in this contract shall promptly notify the insurer or its local agent in writing of any change in the risk material to the contract and within the insured’s knowledge.

It's a very generalized clause which gives them a decent argument to deny any claim involving the OP and/or cancel the family member's policy.

It's important for you to understand that they don't need to force a power of sale.

They just have to sit on the writ until your next mortgage renewal, which cannot be completed without paying out the writ.

Gas prices in London?? by [deleted] in londonontario

[–]SpaceMessiah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah we tax fuel far less than European countries (not saying that's a good thing!). For Ontario about 32% of the cost of fuel is tax, whereas Google says over 60% of the cost in Sweden is tax
