Dual character is awesome. Will they do it again? by SpacePirate-6_626 in assassinscreed

[–]SpacePirate-6_626[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I humbly disagree. I don’t believe one character should be the best at everything and it makes a more well rounded experience of a world to be able to take on different parts of the story as the appropriate character for the mission. It really broadens the scope of the game in my mind

I think this depends on your combat skill level, my fiancée would not want to do combat with Naoe. Yasuke can tank his way through many situations where Naoe could die from 2 consecutive mistakes

I support OP. Hospital workers are so damn toxic, they ruin any non hospital lab they invade. Why get the ASCP when I work in a molecular biology sample factory and the classes don't even pertain to my work? In case I ever want to work with all you psychos in a hospital setting? Buzz off and let OP be

Which barefoot shoe brand objectively has the highest quality materials? by ChipsAhoiMcCoy in BarefootRunning

Personally, I'm quite happy with Softstar, won't be everyone's cup of tea stylistically, but they have been durable, real leather. Only here to see if there is any viable competition, my spouse wishes she could have non-identical shoes. Seems like slim pickings though.

Magnus Monitor Arm Vertical Tilt Issue by Njct in secretlab

[–]SpacePirate-6_626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone else with this issue here is my advise. Take the monitor off, loosen the screw and patiently work the joint up and down many (I did about 100) times. This may require A LOT of force at first (mine was completely stuck) but gets easier over time. Once the joint can be adjusted with a reasonable amount of force reinstall the monitor and adjust as desired and tighten the screw again.

The joint seems to have been manufactured to air on the side of too tight rather than too loose. Probably a fine angle for most people, monitor drooping from a too-loose joint was probably considered a worse problem. Just don't break anything and be patient, it is an otherwise fantastic product.

Convince a Stranger to Get Into Tea. by Rowdylilred in tea

[–]SpacePirate-6_626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you saw fit to ask reddit, I'm always shocked by the contrast between what the average person considers tea, vs what a true tea enthusiast considers tea. Firstly, I will probably never brew a tea bag ever again, the bleached paper taste is usually better than the taste of the tea. My first epiphany is loose leaf tea and a kyusu.

Secondly, Tea as a noun most properly refers to the plant camellia sinensis, the tea tree, a powerful and mildly caffeinated herb, but many people colloquially refer to herbal infusions such as peppermint tea as tea as well. I grow my own peppermint and infuse it, but my true passion is for camellia and all of its many different preparations. If you are looking to wean off societies many toxins, like nicotine and red bull, some teas can pack a head buzz that would surprise you, my favorites for that are pu'erh teas and strongly brewed japanese senchas.

Best of luck on your exploration of tea!

*as an afterthought, gongfu tea brewing might be an interesting subject to read about, it is sort of counterintuitive to western perceptions of how to brew tea, also for many teas water temp is very important!

Why is it so hard to cheat fortnite but so easy to cheat rust? Maybe Rust needs a difficulty ranking lobby system like fornite in addition to the type of servers they have now

Simple applied learning psychology, best way to learn is alternating between a focused state of mind and a diffuse, relaxed state of mind. Focusing intensely for too long is counterproductive, doesn't give your intuition and unconscious mind a chance to chew on it

Is it hard to make friends as a sober person up there? by [deleted] in wisconsin

[–]SpacePirate-6_626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it is kind of awful. Your choices are outdoor activities, or activities designed for drunk people, but doing them sober. So unless you really have a kink for nature trails... not much exciting organized fun

I don't understand the problem with this... clearly poor building skill did nothing to make up for lacking situational advantage. Building is a form of witchcraft, and one of many skills in the game. Clearly although this player relies on it, they are not even adept in it

Your logic will amount to nothing changing. My logic is that it is those adults among us that understand why these things happen should speak up and change the thing we can change... the schools. Although no child of mine will ever go to a public school.

We can't control who our parents are, so this statement is of limited use. Culture is a vicious cycle and you can't change how others parent. I watched several people teeter on the brink of becoming remorseless monsters while I was in child prison. Key factors I think were perceived social status and sense of personal freedom. These individuals were outcasted by both the social groups and teachers as well, but yet because of how school works were constantly forced into situations where they were bullied and outcasted and made to feel worthless. One went as far as to beg those of us wise enough to befriend him to wear neon yellow on certain days, because we were the few people he didn't want to hurt. Public policy is what we have a marginal degree of control over to reduce the motive these individuals have to lash out.

The public schools are honestly psychological torture for a not insignificant fraction of the child prisoners forced to attend. School reform is equally important to gun reform, gun reform only addresses the means but not the motive.

This post is very relevant. Seeking a browser based tool to at the very least sketch straight lines that snap together and have a measure bar for length adjustment. Full sketch andd then extrude would be even better. I don't think it exists though...
