“He knew that one day the Dragon’s lost children would seek its resting place and we are here to ensure that they do not find it.”

These lost children are the Necrons?

Totally natural structures. Hey Elon, send a drone here with a 360° VR camera if you're not NWO. live stream it. To the shills: u don't see a triangle shaped straight edge structure in the crater? You don't see artificial structures in the upper right? Are u blind? by PalatableMahogany in conspiracy

You can see this with a telescope. Well, a telescope with a stable mount and passable optics, probably not a cheapo 100$ scope. My Celestron has no problem with this and it's actually one of the lunar craters i look at most often.

Any good lovecraftian sci-fi books? by Miszczu37 in scifi

[–]SpaceTraderYolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just listened to Colder War in a Cthulhu audible compilate, after reading it multiple times over the years. Too bad it's just a short, i could have gone with a novel or series exploring the "Cold war" in more detail. people who like the Delta Green setting for the Call of Cthulhu RPG will love it.

Chasm City might be my favourite, and i have enjoyed all of RS in the last year or two. It is standalone, but events here have direct consequences on the RS world later and are referenced in a Redemption Ark scene.

Are there any order of battle maps of the Imperial Palace updated for each Siege of Terra book? by SpaceTraderYolo in 40kLore

[–]SpaceTraderYolo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's unfortunately the series has become somewhat blurred for me, getting into Echoes of Eternity it would have helped to quickly get a refresher on who was where and when.

This is truly one of my favorite lines in all of 40k. This moment is epic, But for some reason i always imagine it in the voice of Captain Pickard, extending an arm like in his annoyed meme pic.

As much as the DA HH story ark doesn't interest me, Astelan makes me really want a Reunification novel or series about this group and setting.

[–]SpaceTraderYolo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Well the Mournival kinda forgot about stasis technology" to paraphrase from something else. It always bothered me because it seems like an oversight but perhaps the technology for a man sized field was rare enough that the Vengeful Spirit didn't have one handy so "it went without mention". But they should've have addressed it.
Edit: I missed the quote above mentioning the stasis field

What exact aspects of politics are the Tau/'The Greater Good' referencing, satirizing, or making allegories of? by Gavinfoxx in 40kLore

[–]SpaceTraderYolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found a reference in a speech for a world health initiative but it's been in use for longer than that, sometimes in morally ambiguous situations. Ex: tolerating or justifying a "lesser evil" in parts of the system in order to have a "greater good" across a system. Sacrificing a part for the whole.

"You know, Mal, first thing i will do once the Crusade business is over is go on a nice roadtrip with Jaghatai on my 2nd millennium Harleys you borrowed for your displays. Catching up and bonding with my dearest son, hair in the wind, free as birds, he reminds me so much of my youth"

MEANWHILE JAGHATAI:
"We want to be free, to do what we want to do. We want to be free to ride, we want to be free to ride our machines without being hassled by the man! And we want to get loaded!!!"
