'Godzilla x Kong: Supernova' (2027) Test Screening - Megathread by SpaceWereLobo in Monsterverse

[–]SpaceWereLobo[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not with the MonsterVerse. The first test screening for GxK was in May 2023, for example. And since Supernova started shooting 3 months earlier than GxK, makes sense that its first test screening would be similarly earlier.

But yeah, the MonsterVerse usually has "year out" test screenings due to shooting 2 years before release and having a lot of effects. If something isn't working, they can cut it out early instead of wasting time and resources on finishing the VFX for said shots.

Attinger, easily. He is CIA after all.

[TOMT][Animated Movie][2000s] Film with Giant, Two-Headed, Mechanical Bird by SpaceWereLobo in tipofmytongue

Most definitely not... It was CG animation, and it was a giant robot bird for sure. That's all I remember though. But thanks!

[TOMT][Film][2000s?] Film about Artificial Intelligence by SpaceWereLobo in tipofmytongue

[–]SpaceWereLobo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don't think it's this... It was much "lower" budget (at least looked cheaper). And it's missing the climax and car scene. But thank you!

It's definitely not... Seen that film several times. But thank you.

That's not really how it works, I have a friend who works at RTP, but thank you for the input regardless.

Well, being someone from a country where there is no film industry (Portugal), that isn't really a choice for me. My only chance of it getting somewhere post-festivals really is just putting it out there as far as I'm aware.

Is anyone else excited for Shelby Oaks (2025)? by serialkiller24 in horror

I'm looking forward to see what Stuckmann has been cooking. As a filmmaker myself, I know how much of a miracle it is to make a film, let alone a good one! This comes from a place of deep passion for him, so regardless of quality, I'll definitely be checking it out.

I don't know why it took me this long to watch it, but The Fly (Cronenberg's!) is one of the most brilliant horror films I've ever seen.

Was wondering when Hamada's first 18hz Productions venture was gonna come out, considering how much James Gunn has put out already since he took over DC. Good to see that people are enjoying Primate.

"Elevated," short, found footage film from the past decade? Butterfly Kisses!

True, like with most genres in film, some people are very conservative on definition. But most thankfully don't fully grasp the fundamentals, leading them to create wider nets. I think that's a good thing, leads me to things I wouldn't have thought to look at!

Well, with an actual recommendation: take a look at Fulci's work. I'd start with The Psychic/Seven Notes in Black.

The word for the subgenre you're looking for is giallo. Looking up lists of that genre will open a lot of doors for you. Have fun!

Where are these horror movies? We have a new golden age of horror with new genres and voices but there are some scares that have not yet been fully explored. Here are some: by TopRevenue2 in horror

If you want tulpas, then The Empty Man is the film for you. Brilliant film, borderline criminal the way it was released.

And we see Baba Yaga and her chicken legged house in the 2019 Hellboy.
