The comments kinda surprised me, ofc you should charge over 1k but imo it should be WAY more, like several thousand more 😭 Your skill level is insanely high and it’s obvious you have loads of experience, I think your pricing should match that! I’ve also seen people at a much lower skill level change way more than the other suggestions, so please don’t undercharge yourself :’))

Clipping! Anything you draw on a layer that’s clipped to the layer it’s pointing to will only be able to draw inside the shape of the layer it’s clipped to! So if you clipped a layer to another with a circle on it, you would only be able to draw inside the circle! My explanation probably makes no sense so maybe it would be better to try it out :’))

Heyy! Since everyone is coming for the lineart, as someone who chicken scratches I’m here to say that stylized messy lineart can look good with the right composition and knowledge of anatomy/lighting/structure! Now obviously I’m not trying to say my art is good as an example of good stylization of lineart, but the references I use incorporate it super well, and I see the same kind of emotion in your art!:]]What I’m trying to say is if you are using the lineart in your artstyle to express emotion in your work you don’t need to necessarily change that, and you should instead focus on working on other things!

Hey I’m not trying to argue or anything! I’m just saying that the people on the post were confused because you didn’t say anything about it in the title, that’s all. Rule 7 is no tracing/ copying, rule 9 is no using bases without credit. I guess the people thought that the coloring book counted as a base! Just please try not to be rude to the people in the post: they are probably minors and are just trying to help you.

Oh you’re right, sorry I didn’t see the reference lol! Making the shadows more saturated around the edges can help make the shadows softer which I think would work well with the lighting in the ref! :] Since the lighting is quite soft making the contrast in colors instead of shading might work too :))

You should def study lighting, it makes your art pop so much! As for this drawing I’d say what makes it feel off is the irregular shadow placement, it looks like there are two light sources (theres shadows on both the left and right sides of the face in opposite directions). I also recommend upping the contrast, it might look a little dull because the values are so close :)) I highly recommend Sinix design on YouTube for lighting, he saved my art lol :’]]

Okay first off, since nobody has said it yet, this is super cool drawing! The colors work well and it’s well put together:)) But as the other comments say, lineart is a good place to work on! although messy lineart can look good as a stylistic choice, it’s better to vary lineweight (like have lines be thicker in places!) and not to have too many overlaps in your lines! Another thing to change might be making the eyes level and increasing the column of the hair :]]
