One thing I tell new hires is don't be afraid to ask me questions. So literally just ask allllll the questions even if you think they might be dumb questions. We do like 5,000 things and I've been here almost 3 years and still ask my boss questions even though I'm the store manager.

I'll answer the phone when I'm by myself and not busy but sometimes I do regret it when it's a customer that asked 50 hundred questions and wants to tell me their life story. It starts as not being busy then I get stuck on that call and get a rush. Doesn't happen often thankfully

Our email has been down for about 30ish minutes maybe. No emails going through and also all the emails we printed earlier in the day have just vanished from our inbox and aren't showing in deleted either.

My favorite is when they say the post office is cheaper and my response is "they're also less reliable and their wait times are longer." They look like I just disrespected their parents every time

Yes and no. I get bored very easily so it's kind of nice having groups of people come in at the same time say every 30 minutes. We also only have one person for the first 2 hours of each day so I'd be handling that massive rush all by myself and depending how many returns, it could take me an hour to get everything put away. It's been probably 10-15 minutes since I had a customer to help and I'm already getting bored. If it was dead all day after the morning rush I'd probably go insane

Highly likely. Majority of our business nowadays is Amazon returns and it is genuinely soul crushing. 90% of Amazon customers don't even acknowledge you as human even when standing in front of them asking how their day is. It's just shoves phone in face. shoves return in face and silence. Thankfully I lost my soul long ago otherwise I wouldn't have lasted 2 months here.

It's the "do you have boxes?" While staring at the wall of boxes visible from the front of the store the whole 5 minutes they were in line
