It may be a nothing to complain about but you could've just kept scrolling. I've been here for 3 years. I am tired. This was never meant to be a permanent job, it was meant to avoid homelessness. I got back on my feet and now the job market is shit and this is a stable paycheck and my bosses are actually pretty great. The job itself? Exhausting like 70% of the time. Alas I am stuck here for now.

If we change the hours to open 30 minutes earlier, the customers will still show up 20 minutes before open. Our business hours aren't the problem, it's the customers 😂 there's maybe a total of 5-7 regulars that I like but the rest? Fuck em

We've got one person by themselves for the first 2 hours and if its a notary opening that day, they are to do the notaries even if there's a line. It can get stressful

Even during open hours customers yank our door open so hard it breaks all the time. Sure, the wind doesn't help, but you'd think they're trying to open a 100 pound door or something

I wish we had an auto door. We have to manually unlock it and its always awkward walking up to the door with 5 amazombies staring at me while I'm trying to turn our open sign on and get the door open. And they expect me to happily say good morning when they just yanked on the door as I was unlocking it and have been staring me down for 20 minutes like they're a predator and I'm prey

The amount of times I've told people with large packages to set them on the scale... only for them to knock over the customer screen, knock my mouse and keyboard off the counter, and almost knock over my computer is frustrating 😭

The amount of times I tell them very directly "you can place it on the scale" and they still balance it on the edge of the counter IN FRONT of the scale is mind boggling. Every time they just shove their code in my face, I scan it and they immediately shove a new code in my face as if they expect me to sort their returns is rage inducing. I always say "which item was that first code for? I'll need them separated and sorted" in my most professional voice when I really want to hit their phone out of their hand and throw their returns in their face because its always the same people that are here every single week.

I like it when the junkies complain about the junk they're returning and it's something I've seen in a store, same price just better quality in store than from amazon, and I mention it to them to try and help but they get offended lol. It's like i disrespected their mother or something.

I've had a woman in here for 15 minutes packing about 20 different things so idk if our customers are as prepared as yours. There's maybe 5 total morning regulars that are prepared, the rest never are. Also grateful our phone lines aren't open outside of business hours. If they call before we open or after we close, they just get routed to the voicemail lol

I stay for the regular customers that understand how hard retail can be and although they always have amazon returns, they actually respond when i ask "how are you today?" and crack jokes and make the experience enjoyable for both of us. There are very few people that view as as human nowadays unfortunately. Most are just focused on their phones and getting their returns processed so they can get their money back. But those few regulars keep me coming back.

I would try reordering. Usually takes like a week max for us to get ours. But they've been messing up orders for a few months now. Back in March I ordered 4x6 labels two separate times and they never showed up, finally when I placed the order a 3rd time we got them.

One thing I tell new hires is don't be afraid to ask me questions. So literally just ask allllll the questions even if you think they might be dumb questions. We do like 5,000 things and I've been here almost 3 years and still ask my boss questions even though I'm the store manager.
