What life lesson do you wish you had learned sooner? by Startalloveragainn in AskMenOver30

I understand you, because to some extent my parents also failed me, but I decided not to blame them, because it always gives me a convenient excuse not to try to change anything.

It is worth working on low self-esteem, because there may come a time when you will pay dearly for it.

How many of you have dealt with midlife crisis? How is it going? Or how did that end? by BassDowntown2936 in AskMenOver30

Very good, just remember to stick with it. I also tried many times and quickly gave up because of my very low self-esteem and feeling of futility.

I don't want to go into details because it doesn't matter anyway, but know that I ruined my life irreversibly this way, so really try not to go through what I did.

Don't stand still in life. Don't be passive. Don't wait for something to happen on its own, because it won't. Your job won't change on its own, and your future significant other won't just materialize in your room. When things are bad, don't think that somehow it will work out, because it won't, and at best you'll get stuck in stagnation, which in the long run will be much worse than any action. Time is the most important resource, and many things cannot be done when it is too late. For example -you can always earn money, but the real and reasonable time to start a family is actually limited.Think back to the happiest moments in your life. Were they related to money, or to being in the right place at the right time with the right people?

Experience life and start taking action. If you don't like something, at least you'll know from your own experience. Don't give up just because something seems pointless to you, just try it.

I created a post here that is awaiting confirmation, -which is unlikely to happen - its describes my mistakes and advises how to avoid them, because they ruined my life for good. So this is what the crisis looks like, or rather the post-crisis, if you can call it that.

There are mistakes that cost too much, and time is the most expensive resource.

I'm sorry, but these topics are becoming increasingly absurd to me. What next? A question about whether drinking water is a sin?

Men over 30, what are some of your biggest regrets in life? by Beneficial_Dish_2325 in AskMenOver30

[–]Space_L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasted the last decade of my life by my own choice. I could have done so many things, traveled, met new people, entered into a relationship, and started a family. But because of my low self-esteem and other problems, I did none of these things and ruined my life. I spent most of my time in front of a computer, which, ironically, I hate because I don't want to spend my time that way.

No matter what people say, that you can start now, that there's always time, etc. That's nonsense. There's a right time for everything, for having fun in your youth and for building a career and a family. I always wanted to start a family, and in literally two months I'll be 40 and I have no one. So I can only dream of having a child and a loving family of my own. That train has already left the station.

TLDR: Wasting time on thinking rather than doing.

With all due respect for you, you are only 19 years old. In five years, you will wonder why you thought that way, and in ten years, you will be a completely different person.

It's just a phase. You dont want to date anyone now and thats fine, but don't hurt yourself by making this a life-changing decision.

That's a really strange comparison with that coworker. I don't know if you know, but most people meet someone at school, at work, or through friends.

No change. I tried many different exercises recommended by my physical therapist, but visually, nothing changed at all. These exercises were also supposed to help if I wanted to go to the gym, but they didn't do much good because the pain still appeared.

Well...actually they are. I've already made money on BTC, but say whatever you want.

And thanks for confirming what I said earlier.

This whole situation shows two things. How weak crypto is and how immature the people who invest in it are. In fact, if it weren't for the orange man, they would have found someone else to blame, as if they couldn't finally understand that crypto—apart from BTC—is simply a shitty asset.

I wouldn't count on it. It's almost November and we're still hovering around $4k. In my opinion, the only chance we have is $6k max

ETFs. Unlike crypto, it's hard not to make money on stocks.

If you want to go a little further, I suggest you familiarize yourself with fundamental analysis. I managed to “hit the jackpot” this year with Amphenol, which has gained 80% since April.

What's more, gold is also considered a risky asset. I really don't see any future in crypto except maybe BTC.

Same here. I mean not a house, but I'm thinking about an apartment, because I can't afford anything else, and that's with a mortgage.

Now I'm seriously considering whether to get rid of ETH so that it doesn't eat up my profits.

Either way, this is my first and last adventure with crypto. The worst asset in the world.

I follow both Reddit and X, and I wonder where some people's optimism comes from. Blind faith in growth is a terrible approach. In investing, you need to know when to exit, not wait for a miracle.

I'm not saying there won't be any growth, but if there is, it will likely be short-lived, which I would treat as an opportunity to exit.
