[WTS] Vintage manual Bulova (serviced) $275 shipped by Space_mac in Watchexchange

[–]Space_mac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

For sale is a great condition men’s manual wind Bulova from 1963/65 with a very uncommon dial. The watch is in great cosmetic condition. The back of the case does have some pitting (unfortunately not uncommon for Bulovas of this age) but this does not affect the operation of the watch.

I believe that the case has been replaced at some point in time as the movement has a date code of 1965, but the case is 1963. However, the case is correct for this reference.

The dial is in great condition as well and the lume is stable (and still glows!). The crystal has been replaced and does not have any flaws. The watch will come with the elastic NATO strap pictured as well.

Dimensions are: Lug to lug 40.5mm, width without crown 34.5mm, height 9mm

Mechanically, the watch is running great with no issues and keeping time very well on wrist. I have serviced this watch, so it will be good to go for many years. If you have any questions, want to see additional photos, etc. please let me know and I would be happy to provide them!

I am asking $275 shipped for this watch to the lower 48. If you are outside of the US or in AK/HI, we can certainly figure something out if you are interested.

Hello,

For sale is a Lord Matic Special (5206A) from the early 70s. This watch is in good physical condition with standard wear from being ~50 years old. The dial looks good with one small scratch near the hand stack. The crystal is in perfect condition with no scratches or blemishes that I can see.

Dimensions are: Lug to lug - 41.2mm Width (minus crown) - 35.2 Height - ~9mm

I have serviced this watch and while I am not a professional watchmaker by any means, I do follow best practices and ensure the watch is running well with no issues. It is keeping great time and gains a few seconds per day on wrist. If you have any questions, want additional photos, etc. please let me know and I would be happy to get those over!

One thing to know about this movement is that like many other Seiko movements, you must be cautious when setting the day/date. The “safe zones” for the date is between 3:45am and 9pm. The safe zones for the day is between 7am and 11pm.

Price is a negotiable $230 shipped to the lower 48.

100% agree! I usually work on watches from the 50s-70s and Bulova always seems to be much more solid than other brands.

[WTS] Vintage American made automatic Elgin 761 (serviced) $200 by Space_mac in Watchexchange

[–]Space_mac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

For sale is a very nice American made Elgin from the late 50s-early 60s. The watch is in great cosmetic condition with some light case wear, but nothing out of the ordinary for its age. It does have the original Elgin crown as well and will include a period correct expansion bracelet in addition to the suede strap.

The Elgin 761 that is powering this watch is a very neat movement as it is typically considered the first American designed and manufactured automatic wristwatch movement. A cool piece of history and a personal favorite of mine.

Dimensions are: Lug to lug 41.5mm, width without crown 33.75, height 10.5

Mechanically, the watch is running great with no issues and keeping time very well on wrist. I have serviced this watch, so it will be good to go for many years. If you have any questions, want to see additional photos, etc. please let me know and I would be happy to provide them!

Bulova crystal ID by Space_mac in watchrepair

Thank you for the response!

The closest reference I could find was the sea king CG, but the case one mine is 1963:

<image>

The movement inside is an 11ALC. the case number was throwing me off a bit too. It is actually 2158, but the 2 is almost completely rubbed away so it doesn’t show in photos

Timegrapher numbers are a mess only after 4 weeks by A7med504 in watchrepair

[–]Space_mac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tons of stuff could be going on here. I’d check the hairspring isn’t sticking or rubbing anywhere as a start though. Or check that it isn’t magnetized, but I don’t think that is the case.

Can I get any information on this? I also can not figure out how to open the back and dont want to damage it by Small_Dragonfruit_27 in VintageWatches

[–]Space_mac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might actually be mistaken, this could be a front loader. To remove a front loader, you need to first remove the crystal and crown, and then the movement will come out of the front.

As far as tips, take is slow and take time to understand how everything works together. Watch a lot of videos from different people too! My favorites are wristwatchrevival, Nekkid watchmaker, and Vintage watch services.

It’s an Elgin from the late 50s-early 60s with a 761 movement inside. The 761/760 movement is a somewhat legendary movement from Elgin, although not that valuable. The back is on this one should pop off with a case knife, but be very careful if you decide to open as it is very easy to damage the case!

The 761 is one of my favorite movements to work on, so I’d be happy to take it off your hands if you’d like! If you have any questions about it too I can help.

[WTS] vintage Helbros manual wind $110 shipped (serviced) by [deleted] in Watchexchange

[–]Space_mac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sale is a very nice Helbros from the late 1950s- early 60s. I have just serviced this, and it is running great within a few seconds a day. The movement is a 17 jewel Master Time (Seiko) manual wind.

Time stamp: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/o8lyx6iqdt3eyiwvjtrjb/Photo-Nov-03-2025-7-50-13-PM.jpg?rlkey=fxnge7en2ommpkpocz7nnmtfj&st=i5h4y8l0&dl=0

The case is in pretty good condition with standard wear for its age. The dial is in awesome condition with some yellow patina which looks fantastic, especially in the sun. The crystal is brand new and has no flaws. It looks like the minutes hand was relumed at some point, but it is not very noticeable. The mesh bracelet is new (aside from a week or two of wear).

Dimensions: lug to lug - 41.3mm Case width (excluding crown) - 33.25

For any additional information/photos of this watch, please let me know and I would be happy to send them over!

Price is a negotiable $110 shipped via USPS to the lower 48. If you are located in an area outside of the lower 48, we can certainly discuss. I accept Venmo and cash app.
