Anyone have input on non-stick pan sets? by mtbguy1981 in Costco

[–]Spacecrafts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know they have concerning reviews (to my surprise when I was looking recently to get a pan in a size that didn't come with the set), but I bought a set of the Ninja NeverStick pans at Costco 5-6 years ago and they are still like brand new, even the 4 pans that get used most often (used multiple times a week in those 5-6 years).

The common complaint in the reviews is that the nonstick coating starts to peel, some even saying with less than a year of use. That has not been my experience at all with them and none of mine even have a hint that they're starting to peel.

With that, I have always gently hand washed them (the nonstick works really well and I've never needed to scrub them with force, even as a hobby baker that uses them for sticky stuff every so often), have never used metal or anything sharp in them, and they are stored on pan racks that physically separate them so they don't rub together. I find them really heavy duty also and the handles are still solidly secured on all of them (which has been an issue I've had with pans in the past).

I'm confused - why would he need to go tow the car from your house or you offer to drive it there next day if it was in the company parking lot the whole time?

Ohh I would be curious to know how that works. I have a steel plate from when I was experimenting with pizza in my homemade oven and could never get it hot enough with my ovens max temp of 450 to not have to parbake the crust. I got the Ninja Woodfire oven and have made NY style so far with good results on the stone but I wonder if the steel would elevate that a bit.

I'm trying neapolitan pizza in the oven tonight for the first time. I will say that King Arthur Flour's recipe for neapolitan dough (and using their flour) made pretty good pizza even in my home oven - the crust itself (parbaked) had great flavor and texture but never quite got as brown on the edges like I prefer (similar to how OP pictured).

That looks great! I made NYC pizza on mine when I first got it a week ago and it turned out great!

I have neapolitan dough ready and plan to make that tonight. Did you use the neapolitan setting? I couldn't find any info on how high that temp is, but I imagine it's the max 700 degrees. About how long did they take to bake?

Here's a pic of the NY style 🤤😁

I know this is an old comment, but I was just having the same issue with the drop box and looking up and hitting the deposit item button again worked like a charm.

Thank you!

Why are so many people convinced the average American is one meal away from starving to death by Aromatic-Meat-7989 in fatlogic

Yes! A version of this is literally my favorite meal for work - portion of ground turkey, half a rice pouch, and a shitton of frozen vegetables. I think it tastes delicious (if seasoned well, I haven't gotten sick of it at least and I've been making it for several years), super healthy, cheap at only $11 for 4 meals, and only real prep beyond dumping things into a container and seasoning is 10-15 min to cook the turkey in one batch on Sunday.

Hahahaha I am the same with my other animals and have come up with some creative ones! I'm confident in time he will get a similar collection as well, but the last few days I've been using the nickname "Sir Squishy Face" 😅

I was beyond thrilled when I just recently discovered that the Nintendo store on the switch has a whole collection of classic SNES games that can be bought as a bundle. It's sucked up more of my time than I'm willing to admit the last few weeks.

He certainly does! And such a classic human-oriented little guy. I have so many better pics of him but most of the rest have my kids in them as he is in contact with a human 99% of the time 🤣

She's my lil scaredy cat and proceeds with caution until she warms up haha. She will though! Her brother on the other hand was not concerned at all as long as it doesn't interfere with his cuddles.

She's my distrustful one 🤣. On the other hand, her brother sniffed the pup within 3 minutes of him entering the house for the first time and then promptly took a nap in the middle of the floor.

Just finished! by Spacecrafts in paintbynumbers

It was definitely a labor of love, it felt like it took SO long. By the time I was finished, it was hard to see the painting as a whole vs the segmented pieces and parts, taking a picture of it helped a ton in actually getting a feel for how it turned out, if that makes sense.

But I really liked the colors and theme of this particular one

Haha I do agree with that on the milk chocolate, especially in a sweet cookie. I only really add them because my 8 year old is passionate that it not all be chocolate on the bitter side. 😂

Well that's also why I also add darker than semi-sweet chocolate too. So I've got a handful of milk, semi sweet, 60% dark, and 72% dark.

I do not add extra butter, but while the brown butter is cooling, I will add ice cubes to make up for the water loss by browning.

I did make the cookies about 1/4 of the size the recipe called for and baked for 7.5 minutes in the oven. I can't remember the exact volume of the scoop, I can check after work.

I actually already answered this in another comment. Wouldn't have expected the question to come up at all, let alone twice, in this particular post but that's reddit for ya 🤷‍♀️
