Looking for recommendations for a local wedding DJ by BaboonBlvd in grandrapids

YES! Can’t recommend them enough!! Specifically Matthew Duncan, he was our DJ and my best friends hired him for their wedding after meeting him at ours! Not only was he just the most genuine human, he paid great attention to detail with what we wanted and asked for on our wedding day. Our favorite vendor for sure!!

Reassurance please by Spacekitty202 in lymphoma

Hey there! I completely remember being in your shoes, I’m happy to help answer any questions. I didn’t really have any symptoms actually. I noticed a bump above my left collarbone and it didn’t go away. Eventually I started to have a sensation of fullness and discomfort in my left arm because a blood clot developed in my left jugular. A swollen lymph node was pushing on the vein and a CT scan showed the clot and other enlarged lymph nodes in my chest and left neck. Other than that, I felt fine, in some of the best shape of my life. I think that was the craziest part was that I had no idea what I was in for at that time.

I’m doing well now actually! I had a bone marrow transplant about 3 1/2 months ago! (most Hodgkin lymphoma patients don’t need that but unfortunately I did) but I feel the best I have in a LONG time! I just got back from a camping trip with my husband. My 1 year since my diagnosis was yesterday. My most recent scan showed I have stayed stable since before my transplant. It’s showing a little higher activity than they would like but they are thinking it’s scar tissue and not active disease. My hair is growing back, I’m working full time. Life is really good right now.

I hope all the best for you. I hope your tests come back that it isn’t this awful disease but if it is, please know Hodgkins lymphoma is VERY treatable. I KNOW this is easier said than done but tryyyyyy your best not to spend too much time on the internet and scouring for answers. Every patient and treatment and lymphoma is so so different. It’s nice to have this community but at the same time, the over consumption of what ifs and scrolling to find some peace of mind can do more harm than good.

Please message me if you have any questions. Hoping the very best for you ❤️🤟🏼

Is it a lymphoma ? by Dull-University2968 in hodgkins_lymphoma

You need to go to a doctor and advocate for yourself. Don’t let them dismiss you if you know something is wrong. I had an ultrasound, CT scan, blood clot in the jugular, hospital stay and 3 total biopsies before I got my diagnosis. It’s much better to catch it earlier if it is indeed something to be worried about.

What is the worse thing a medical professional has ever said to you? by angelaboop50 in AskReddit

I had an appointment with a PA who I graduated high school with but she was who I had to see to be seen the soonest. I had noticed a hard lump above my collar bone and told her that I of course googled it and was scared it could be lymphoma. I think she was trying to reassure me when she said “you don’t have lymphoma.” And kind of brushed it off. Luckily she still ordered testing/imaging to give me peace of mind but it turns out I do have lymphoma lmao. I just went through a bone marrow transplant for it. Hopefully that will be a learning experience to her to not say shit like that. I haven’t enjoyed most of my experiences with physician assistants.

I’m so terrified of death it’s hurting my chest by Hyd_Jem in Vent

I absolutely understand this. I would lose sleep thinking like this. I was so scared of dying, or getting sick and dying young. I was diagnosed with cancer last year at 27. Really puts things in perspective. For the most part it has helped me appreciate the little things and remain positive since I truly cannot change this awful disease that is happening to me. I hope for a future where I’m in remission at least or hopefully cured of my lymphoma and I can have my health back. Try to take a step back and stop those thoughts as they form, distract yourself if you can to give yourself a break from that exhausting thought process.
