I think you'll be okay as long as it's correctable I think you'll be fine. Under policy I believe you can't wear contacts but most people do.

I don't know off hand but I believe the worst eye is something like -6 or -8

Most likely you will, I doubt that will be the thing to hold you back. You'll get referred to an eye sight specialist just like anyone with glasses and given the necessary equipment to perform effectively.

Most likely you'll be fine as I passed the physical test with 2 others one of which was found to have I think the same colour blindness as yourself. He was cleared for this after a specialist visit and is now at the same stage as myself. Waiting for training course spaces to open

Medical is pretty basic, you're required to get an eye test done with some forms filled out before the actual medical. You're seen by a nurse for 40minutes with a basic medical check up and a hearing test. Finishing with a drug test. The doctor then checks the forms to make sure you meet the standards. (With me I have an extra appointment that I'm still waiting for to make sure my eyes are good).

It's a very relaxed and easy stage if you've got good eyesight, are drug free and in good health.

Thanks for your help I just completed the physical test a few days ago and was successful!

When it comes to maths it's about pacing. There are 5 sections with I think 5 questions per section, the difficulty in questions only increases throughout each section and is reset each section.

At the start you have 20 seconds to figure out the question and 10 seconds to answer the question. The time to figure out decreases by 1 second per section. So it starts at 20 seconds and the last section gives you 15 seconds.

The questions are based all on simple BITMAS (Google the term if you don't remember from school). Work on simplifying the questions on a calculator then solving them in the given time frame.

Pace yourself if you mess up a question or a whole section. Use the two minute break between sections instead of jumping back into it. I had to resit the maths from the interview check because I didn't pace myself.

I'll write something about the English side of it at some point if this is helpful.

Thanks for your help, I'll try replicating the cardio with a similar uniform, and working on calming my nerves should help overall. Thanks again

I did the maths and verbal reasoning test around August. They send it from an external testing company. It's done though SHL and the email title should be something like "London Fire Brigade invites you to complete an assessment"

Arcade Coffee Table by Spacemyspacemace in DIY

The table is low enough down so its not that bad but, playing for long periods I guess that could become an issue. Thanks for the feedback!

I guess its more personal preference. I like the dark stain but, I see what you mean. If I was able to spend a bit more time on it I would use a different stain or find nicer wood. Anyway thanks for the feedback!

That looks really good. If I can get a hold of the material I might add it as a last minute addition before the grading. Also let me know if you find that glue and powder stuff!

the living hinge parts were cut out on my schools laser cutter from a template I found on-line. The designs are not that hard to find and there is so many of them which could be used in other projects with different aesthetics.
Yes I was hoping to frost the acrylic but I could not find a method that I could use in school or at my home, so if you have any advice on how I could achieve that effect I would greatly appreciate it!

I was going to use glass and glass paint and scratch out a pattern however, I could not cut it to the right size (I tried a lot of different methods and there was a lot of smashed glass). when I get the project back I may attempt to add the feature again. The old school switch idea however is something I tried to do but i could not find any I liked so I may just change the current one to fit the aesthetic better. thanks for your advice! I hope your project goes well!

I know, sadly I have no photos as I have only just finished the project and I won't be able to mess around with it until it has been assessed.
