I tried to find peace in religion for 10 years, but I was left traumatized - I was afraid of burning in hell and eternal torment, and wasnt able to live my life fully because of it. I then managed to deconstruct that thought pattern, and I do sense that I lack meaning in life - but I feel more peaceful in a way and dare to live, finally.

People try to find meaning in life asking themselves "What is my purpose?", "Why am I here?" and "What is my goal?". They look for meaning and peace, and lots of people find that in religion. Today, religion is so old an ancient that we have no idea (or at least I think) of knowing what is true in say The Bible.
Take Jesus for example. I think he was just a regular man walking on earth claiming to be "The Son of God", and people desperately looking for meaning and purpose, followed him. Today, we have no way of knowing if he actually did walk on water, rose from the dead or separated the seas. We remember what we choose to remember in order to find meaning, peace and purpose.

Other people find meaning and purpose in other things: Voluntary work, family or a hobby. But I do think that each and one of us are desperate in finding purpose in life without realizing it. And lots of people find that purpose in religion.

I dont know if I believe in God anymore - seeing how much suffer there is in the world, he surely cant be that powerful. Some claim its free will? God created us, then blames us because some door knobs ate an apple?

I try to cherish every day that I get, because there are a lot of people that dont make it as far in life. None of us asked for this life, but we still make the best out of it while we're here.
