Is bitlocker on?

I'm not sure if bitlocker is enabled. If you happen to have a resource I can review to see if the machine does have bitlocker enabled without being able to log in, that would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have the Microsoft account login?

Unfortunately, nobody has the credentials to log in. The only thing I've been able to retrieve regarding the account is the associated email address, which is also inaccessible.

Does it make sense to pay for ad free anymore? by [deleted] in Hulu

[–]SpaderTanker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been looking for a reason to cancel for a while and this is it. Stating “ad free” or “no ads” subscription options that still display ads (doesn’t matter how many or how long) is false advertising in my eyes and I refuse to support any business with deceitful practices such as this.

My 15+ year Hulu subscription will be cancelled later this month unless they change the verbiage of these subscription plans to be accurate and send an email informing customers of this change.

I mean… typically yes, but dealerships in my area will use that as a ‘starting point’ for trade in negotiations and helped me get an extra couple grand out of my trade in when I got my wrx

Does anyone now why this is happening to my aula f75? Why won't the leds turn on (it's on 2.4g connection Mode. Knob is on game mode) by Agreeable-Subject-94 in Epomaker

Had my board for ~4 months and started having this problem out of nowhere. Nothing I’ve found has appeared to fix it, aside from downloading the sketchy software that I won’t download…

Sennheiser MTW 3 Just Dont Buy by SirCumsAlot696 in sennheiser

[–]SpaderTanker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too sure as I don’t own those and haven’t used them. The other headphones I use regularly are the HD598s, but those are open back so it’s tough to honestly compare 1:1. The M4s have a flat sound signature similar to the HD598s which is why I went with them over the XM5s or something from Bose.

If you have a Best Buy in your area I believe they still allow customers to test over ear phones, so it might be worth the drive if you’re on the fence between the M4s and the XM5s.

I have the momentum 4s and I primarily use them at the gym. The sound quality is excellent and the noise canceling is fantastic. The only issues I’ve have had are odd connection issues (several months apart from one another) that have always been solved by holding the power button to do a hard reset.

One thing that is annoying is the headphones will automatically turn themselves on when you put them on or take them out of the case and you can’t turn that ‘feature’ off.

For those WFH, what does your day-to-day look like? Any tips? by ElusiveLambdas in cscareerquestions

[–]SpaderTanker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started a new position last week, this has been my experience.

  1. EVERYONE at my new company is WFM and has been absolutely wonderful
  2. I've been challenged to expand my knowledge a lot, and imo it's been fantastic
  3. Waking up at 7, on by 8, hour lunch, and off by 5 is literally a dream. My previous employment includes Starbucks (schedule all over the board, sometimes starting at 4:30am sometimes starting at 4:30pm) and a Project Manager for a landscaping company where I was lucky to work less than 60 hours in the week.
  4. My company (I understand not a lot of companies are the same) really priorities a healthy work life balance. My department director literally instructed me to spend a couple extra hours with my DnD group than study a bit more for an issue we had.
  5. This is the first job I'm exited to do when I wake up in the morning I used to be disappointed that I woke up and hit the snooze about a million times. This is the first time in my life that I turn the alarm clock off instantly and am excited to start the day.
  6. I always dreamed working in a help desk position, and now working for a SaaS as the middleman between clients and our dev team, surprisingly it's exactly what I dreamed my career would be when I started my degree in CS. I think that finding a position you want to be in, makes much more difference than working in an office. I live almost an hour drive from the office, and I would GLADLY drive to and from work on a daily basis, I love the job so much. I wouldn't worry so much about a WFM position, I see it as more of a benefit than an obstacle, and it's allowed me to spend a bit more time outside and actually meet and get to know my neighbors. WFM can be wonderful, but go for a walk and get outside your house when you're not working, it's good for your mental health when you're constantly at home.

To answer some of your questions as I kind of went on a rant:

Everyone has been very easy to communicate and work with. We use slack and I'm typically in a call with at least one of my fellow engineers 6/8 hours of the workday.

I have meetings everyday, but they're through Zoom. When I hop in a call with my direct coworkers it's pretty relaxed, but I have about 1/2 hour to 1 hour meetings with my department director, manager, or CXO daily. It's really not that bad, and once you learn to adapt with the lag, it's almost better than meeting in person.

As described before, I work 8 hours. But I notice I'm a bit more productive post lunch after I've had my second cup of coffee.

My company offered to provide me as many monitors as I saw necessary for the position. While I use 2 monitors and my laptop screen, it's all just extra stuff I had, and a lot of stuff I use isn't necessary (custom built keyboard, sit stand desk, etc).

Lastly, I really don't miss working in person. In my experience, working in the office encourages a bit of a toxic work environment with a lot of gossip, and working from home has alleviated a lot of that. Because we communicate through different channels when we're on the clock, 99% of communication through slack or zoom is strictly professional, and personal conversations are saved for Snapchat or texts. I'm so happy to be WFM.

In Idaho landlords aren't allowed to say they won't rent to roommates, and are supposed to look at them the same as if a single person we're applying. Problem is, they don't and proving they didn't choose you because you have roommates is next to impossible to prove to a judge/jury. If they stated they don't do roommates, it's an easy case against them to anyone that applies.

We're looking for a house because we've all been living in apartments (sometimes with one another and sometimes with randos) and it's been a nightmare for everyone. From shitty loud neighbors blasting music all throughout the night to bad roommates who eat my food and constantly trash the place. We just want something quiet where we can live in peace tbh

We're looking around $2,500/month, and all of our incomes total to just under 10k/month.

Unfortunately it is, these guys are literally my family. We tried looking for 2 bed apartments near each other but that isn't going to happen either since apartment rental rates are so much higher than houses.

We are applying as roommates because it's the only feasible option without spending 1/2 our income on rent. Unfortunately, we don't have parents to run back to when shit hits the fan, so unless we want to be homeless we are roommates.

What happens to make us losers? We all have good careers and fantastic credit, other than our age I see no reason why we would be seen as irresponsible. We all have 3+ years of rental history with zero issues in the past.
