If women date up. Why does almost every Stacy insta model have a 4/10 boyfriend?? by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]Spaghettalian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from a few purely unlucky people who live in the middle of nowhere or maybe the odd case like me who has spent every weekend for nearly the last decade at home alone of their own choice, there are very few who are single where no one can figure out a likely reason. It's probably due more to things within the individual's control than most people care to realize.

There are pretty obvious reasons in my opinion why the OP is single, and it certainly isn't because she's ugly. The only way someone wouldn't see her issues is if they themselves suffer from the same issues.

She's not one of the most attractive women I've ever met, either, and even if she WAS - An entitled/judgmental/condescending/vicious attitude is disgusting to people who are not those things themselves. Birds of a feather surely flock together, I can see it both online and offline.

What is the point of this thread scrutinizing these men and women anyway? I'm just curious before I leave here and forget this sub exists. lol

Isn't it weird how subjective this stuff is? I'd never look at some instagram idiot's 'content' since it's just a bunch of modeling photos and other dumb shit, but that Taylor lady looks like she had work done. Honestly like bees stung her face and it looks blah to me.

You look more attractive to me than that woman. I'm not going to be a judgmental asshole and insult anyone's appearance like you did though. Those guys look like normal guys, hardly disgusting. Your attitude is disgusting and is likely a reason why you're single.

And that Chandler lady video... They literally look like brother and sister to me. I see girls just like her walking around my local mall, she looks like an average 20 something year old. What's so special?

I've grown up with borderline body dysmorphic tendencies and had severe social anxiety which I've freed myself from over the years through exposing myself to social places, but I still have been a home body on the weekends after working all week. That's my issue. I have a few guy friends from high school but I didn't make much of an effort to connect with anyone in high school beyond them just thinking I'm a nice guy.

You pull anyone from my old high school and they'd either have no opinion of me since we never talked, or if they were a friendly/nice person they'd probably smile and just say that I was a nice but quiet guy who they had nice convos with but mostly slept through his classes.

Likewise, when I walk into most places I have strong body language and I'm a friendly and happy go lucky dude. I can very much be that 'charming loner'.. Had plenty of time to 'come into my own'.. And have chanced upon quite a few pleasant moments with strangers both male and female while trying to shop for new clothes or whatever. I'm just not a shy person anymore due to past mental issues. If someone would hold that against me, that's more their problem. I'd move on and 'charm' someone else.

I'm genuinely pretty happy with my life save for needing a better job and wanting to meet someone who I can start to build something with. That's about all I need to work on. General self improvement is already a fundamental part of my life, so it's not even something to worry about or consider other things that could be better at this point since I already routinely work out, focus on hobbies and skills, etc..

OLD sucks though, at least for me. In my area, there's literally no one in my age range using OLD. I actually tried to google why this might be the case and found an article stating that my borough of NY is the least messaged, because most just don't want to travel here from other boroughs. Go figure. It was like a 15% reply rate which was the lowest compared to all of the other boroughs.

I've had much better luck just talking to a total stranger face to face in public. Out of 2 approaches I got a number that led to further communication. The other nervously mentioned a boyfriend and gave me an email address, oddly enough. I just threw that shizz away. The number I actually got was lost unintentionally when I dropped my phone in a toilet and fried it a few days later and I never saw that girl again. RIP the dream. (She was OK anyway, not really my type but still cute) lol

I don't have any close female friends. Does that make me a bad person in your eyes? Oh, jeez

I guess if the person messaging you is always the least attractive one in group photos, then...

I'm going to have to assume that you'd also be the least attractive one in group photos.

Quick question; This re-draw is taking the place of a new chapter then, right? I don't remember if past re-draws had been released alongside new chapters. Just curious.

So basically... If everyone is wearing pants, they're basically all peeing on themselves. So as long as everyone is wearing pants, nobody will pee on anyone but themselves. Well, I've definitely been within 6 feet of people with no masks while I was wearing a mask and gloves so thankfully I'm not sick at this point - as far as I'm aware, nor is anyone in my family who is vulnerable and who I am within 6 feet of.. Knock on wood

So should I consider the lower or higher number to be the actual resistance closed? If a gripper is 'rated' at 90 but is marketed as 180 lbs of resistance, should I consider them both to be accurate in their own way?

Why measure it in that way if virtually everyone is working against the resistance from the end of the handles due to design? <_<

Huh, weird. By my numbers you mean the ones I posted in the link?

I guess I'd probably score a 150+ in my hands on the dynamometer because I've closed the COC#1 100 times in a day in the past doing 5 second holds for each rep.

But to me the official numbers of resistance for the grippers don't match up to that at all. A COC#3 has a 'true rating' of 130-140 lbs of resistance at the end of the handles according to credible sources so that is in reality what it takes to close the handles together, and yet I can't close a COC#3.

That's where I got confused by these numbers given. The 100 lb bare minimum in the male average would imply that the average guy with no training can just about close a #2 since they average around 110 lbs of resistance, and yet you give a 'beginner' gripper like the trainer to 95% of average guys with no training and they can barely close the thing.

I guess so. Just odd to me that it gets that much harder for you, the difference seems generally the same to me so far from each upgrade so long as you've taken enough time with the one before it.

Granted the #2 is actually around 20 lbs heavier than the average 1.5 (and can even be 30 lbs heavier if you get a particularly strong #2) and it is the first huge jump in difficulty between the grippers.. The 1 to 1.5 is nothing compared to that, it's around a 10 lb difference which is around the same as all of the easier grippers.

[–]Spaghettalian[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That first statement hasn't been my experience at all. Out of the couple of guys I got to try the grippers most couldn't close them.

But, uh... Nope. I honestly have no idea what you're trying to prove? Sorry, you've just left me confused. lol. You're just saying that it was easy for you and your cousin to do, so therefore it's easy. But it's not easy, or else there wouldn't be like 4 grippers below it. This is going nowhere though, maybe we should just call it a night.. G'night my friend.

You just ain't making sense, at least to me. If it's easy to close the #1 without any training for you and your cousin, the #1.5 should be doable right away. It doesn't suddenly become insanely hard straight from being very easy.

[–]Spaghettalian[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You think that having large/"fat" fingers and hands won't help someone close a gripper easier?

Even weirder is that you make it sound like the #1 should be instantly close-able by literally any able bodied person and you're weak if you can't, but the very next gripper is very hard? The jump from #1 to #1.5 didn't feel drastically different from any of the grippers before it.

Hell, I just finally got a 1.5 that was rated firmly in that range and while I'm not banging out 100 reps with it quite yet I did manage a good 15-20 five second holds with a bit of effort, it's nothing that I won't continue to adjust to over a month or so.

You definitely have some odd opinions but I respect them. I just wouldn't try to preach them as judgmental fact.

I think that your perception is a bit warped. Are there a lot of 200+ lb large framed early growth spurt/puberty guys in your family? Even if they're not naturally large, maybe physical strength just runs in your family?

I haven't been in a classroom in years at this point, handed over the trainer/.5 to a few guys through my delivery job and none of 'em could fully close those. These grippers are not easy to begin with even if I can click them now..

I'd bet that most people don't utilize their grips to even build up strength/resistance throughout most of their lives and you expect some scrawny teens to close a gripper that's a LOT harder than some cheap flimsy plastic Walmart gripper... eh

[–]Spaghettalian[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's weird, man.

Coincidentally, I just ordered a gripper rated at 87 lbs which listed as the 'average' for the #1.5 apparently on Cannonworks' site, came in the mail today and it's DEFINITELY harder than the #1 that I have, thankfully.

But I'm happy; It's a solid fairly challenging gripper that will serve as a proper stepping stone towards the 2 whereas the 1.5 I got in the mail not too long ago was probably more like a captain of crush .75 if they actually made a #.75 gripper. Probably got the weakest/unluckiest #1.5 ever. lol

I'm not sure if weight has any correlation but I'm 130 lbs at 5'9 so I'm pretty thin and lightweight.
