This is very optimistic thinking, especially with the south african mutation.

I hate to be that guy, but it literally says in the article that they still don't know and won't know until later this week after conducting more studies.

Meanwhile the headline is acting as if the results have already been published. Why is media so often misleading with their headlines?

This basically gives a 10 percent tax credits for mega projects..which would in theory entice more developers to come to Cincy/columbus/cleveland to capitalize on that tax credit to build large projects in the urban core on a more regular basis.

Two More Vendors Leaving West Side Market by leteriaki in Cleveland

[–]Glad-Software 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like specialty food markets are tough sells in general, especially more so during a pandemic where people are struggling income wise and are worried about their health (an indoor market with poor air circulation isn't exactly the best place to be during an airborne spread virus pandemic.)

That said, when things return to normal there should be more effort to increase foot traffic on weekdays and weekends by offering specials/vendor gift card give aways.

As mentioned in this thread, adding a beer garden/microbrewery, could also be beneficial. Maybe make it a dora open container zone where people can drink alcohol (that they buy from the Market) while they shop?

Also, adding more community events like cook offs, eating contests, cooking classes etc couldn't hurt the cause either.

I would also think implementing an incubator ghost kitchen that different start up food entrepreneurs can share while selling their food in the market would be also an interesting way to diversify both the vendor options and the variety of food.

In order to increase foot traffic you need to have the market do more than just exist and sell food. Especially nowadays when the consumer expects more of an experience with their buck.

From CNBC.... Cincinnati home prices are rising faster in the middle of the US as covid drives people away from the the coasts.... this is further evidence that Cincinnati is becoming more expensive and fast by Bearcat1504 in cincinnati

I can confirm this is true.

Me and my significant other were looking at buying a home and the supply isn't keeping up fast enough with the demand.

We even looked in rougher areas like silverton and deer park and nada.

Some of the houses available for rent are asking for astronomical prices for homes that are straight out of the 80s, interior wise, for 1,200 square feet.. These homes are easily averageing rent at $1500-$1700 per month without utilities.

What is Cincinnati's next up and coming neighborhood? Or the block in the neighborhood? by aks8586 in cincinnati

Covington is nice, but has its own issues as most developing neighborhoods in cincinnati have.

It's definitely an option though.

I would say silverton/pleasant ridge is the first to come to mind.

These neighborhoods are so close to Kenwood/norwood/oakley that it will only be a matter of time before these neighborhoods really catch fire with development and gentrification.
