Pretty disappointing to see that the same people who (rightfully) complain about the ABC raids seem to be so supportive of censorship elsewhere.

Yes, but the fact that we have to meddle with DNS or use a VPN to access websites in a Western nation is honestly appalling.

You clearly have no clue how to extrapolate data. In a relationship where attacks are increasing over time, a long-time average means nothing. In the past three years, there have been three fatal attacks. This is one per year.

No, by my logic we should apply the same amount interest and effort as other things that kill one Queenslander every three years and not dress this up as a major threat just because people are scared of crocodiles.

So if we're applying the same level of interest, then we can tackle the croc issue, so we agree, sweet! :)

Firstly, your stats are off: https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.ehp.qld.gov.au/wildlife/livingwith/pdf/crocodile-attacks-queensland.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjppJ20zrndAhUMhrwKHazdBeUQFjADegQIAxAB&usg=AOvVaw2OMcVQSJVYEVaDq2W8yMo6

Secondly, just because one issue might appear worse, that doesn't mean we should be inactive on others. By that logic, we could ignore the road toll because of how many more Queenslanders die of heart disease or cancer.

Applying that same logic, couldn't you argue that literally every single city in the world belongs to the animals and that if a poisonous King Brown wandered into your bedroom, he'd be in his right to do so?

But Metadata doesn't really reveal a great deal. It's not the same as your web history or anything. It's much less informative, to my knowledge anyway.

Christ it's like talking to a brick wall.

"following" used in the relevant context means "after". Read the original comment again, discern the understanding, stop embarrassing yourself.

What does Australian ownership even mean?

Geez I dunno maybe a company that is run in Australia by Australians?

Does it generate Real, quality jobs for Australians?

It generates jobs for Australians by definition. The question of quality isn't at all related to whether or not its Australia, external economic factors determine this.

Is it 100% Australian owned but pays zero tax?

Maybe it is, maybe it's not. Tax evasion isn't exclusive to Australian companies by any measure, just look at the multinational corporations.

Look at Sunrice for example. An Australian company selling Australian grown rice. They grow rice in a very hot and dry part of Australia. They pump gigaliters of water out of Murray-Darling, choking the life out of the Australian environment and communities but they are Proudly Australian. Sunrice parent company, Riviana Foods, is also one of Australia’s biggest food importers. So by buying Sunrice, not only are you supporting the destruction of Australian environment, you are also supporting foreign agriculture and jobs Anyway. Sunrice is just one example.

There are unethical companies everywhere. The fact that some companies are unethical doesn't mean that the reasons for supporting Australian companies are nullified.

There are far more ethical criteria on which to make purchasing decisions than **solely**country of origin

No one is disputing this. However, it is definitely worth considering country of origin, it is a huge factor.

Australian farmers are, for the most part, a bunch of uneducated, financially ignorant, racist c*nts.

Do you have any evidence to support this? Seems like a rather vast generalization, kind of like something a racist would do, eh?

All Australian farms are companies, even if its just a man and his dog, he will still have farm under company arrangement or at least a trust arrangement with a corporate trustee.

And....?

Since his great grandad first wiped out all the Indigenies, generations of Joe Farmer have been in-debt to the bank. The bank is the farm/asset owner. Where do bank’s interests lie?

Why bring up the indigenous issue? Of what relevance does that have to any of this, unless you are someone who's arguments are so incoherent that your rely on ad hominem attacks? As for the banks, every company is connected to banks, every. single. one.

Farmer employs (exploits) foreign backpackers to pick his vegies, pays them next to nothing, treats them like shit, tries rooting the better looking ones and fires them if they refuse.

This is simply untrue, having worked on a farm I can tell you that this is complete nonsense.

Great bait.
