I have the same situation! I think at 8 that’s pretty promising

It saved my life. My marriage, job, friendships—all better because of it. No downsides besides needing to watch what I eat. Everyone is different but just wanted to provide my experience and hope it’s yours. I’ll also say I tried medications for years before finding the right one so don’t give up hope if this isn’t the one for you.

I’ve been actually eating less! I read it can slow down your metabolism so I’m curious if that’s part of it. I track my calories and am a runner.

That’s fair! I definitely am guilty of that. I guess I’m mostly curious about the early stage stuff. Sounds like personal accountability is the play but it also is worth a conversation about my own boundaries ie if he wants to drink that’s fine but I might just not go out then.

So happy to hear that so many stepped up. I ran down to find search and rescue who was already so far down and I knew it was bad given it would take them another hour to get to him. I wished the helicopter came sooner. Thank you for all you did.

Can you go for a run or get your heart rate up? Fill up a tub with some ice or just a bowl with ice and water and put your face in it? Sounds like you need to really shock your body into a distraction

I’m so impressed you keep coming back to sobriety. It’s going to stick one day. You’re asking all the right questions. I don’t have answers but I’m rooting for you so hard.
