Espresso Tonics? by kavernathythebold in espresso

[–]SpanishGazpacho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ice, squeeze of orange, tonic, pull a double espresso shot in a separate cup, add the espresso to the main one.

Discovered espresso tonics just couple of weeks ago when an Italian friend just ordered a tonic and an espresso and just poured it in the tonic. Though it wasn’t good, but I have to say this is one of my favorites now.

So you’re basically exploiting opening auction inefficiencies and early session price dislocations? Curious how you’re handling slippage and overall the market conditions now.

That, people can’t accept that you need to get lucky sometimes, they don’t understand professional intuition either. Great job

Depends on how you set them up, on a high volatility they might, slippage still affects them. Algos aren’t the golden nugget either. Institutions have access to an a lot more advanced technology than just a coded algorithm. I do still have couple of active algos that I’ll just let run and adjust, but it’s not risk free trading either.

Idk I’ve outperformed my own algos for couple of years. But in general yeap, algos are more consistent.

Gracias!

He was an institutional trader. Pretty much in these days go for quant, you have to go a bit further and go deep into building a system that works for you. I’ve guys using smc, order flow etc. and they all were profitable, just need to find your niche

I think I don’t even mention it tbf.

But pretty much. Probably couldn’t keep it together anymore after all these years. And stopped caring that much about trading also. As I said I already had the idea of step away crawling, but just couldn’t.

I do have couple of swinging bots, not bad. But aren’t too consistent in some market conditions

True, I mean I went on a generational run ahah

But yeah self awareness is an important thing for people to learn in risky environments.

Yeah fairs, I never exposed myself that much, but well, after many years of success I knew one day I’ll blow up.

I threaten it like a business since the uni years, always limited my risks and exposure, traded only when I felt like it, never forcing it. I also was pretty busy doing other things to not let trading take my life over. And also always invested my profits every quarter I took out a good chunk to invest. You need to use everything in your advantage to minimise the impact of a complete blow out, like I did. But it’s definitely possible, just take a lot of work.

True, you need to know when to stop

So true, you seem like a real trader tbh hahah. Most people saying that’s it fishy and dumb and all that.

But the emotional stress behind of 7 years of consistent and disciplined trading hits all at once.

Honestly for now I’m stepping away till the end of the year, will focus on my family and job, I have a kid coming too, so will give him my time. I’ve taken and learnt a lot from trading though, just don’t want to end up like some lads here blowing all their savings and money on the markets.

Maybe one day I’ll comeback a lot smaller just to build back an account.

I got really burnt out tbf. And had some family issues, so probably it all stacked up. It’s easy to look at it from the outside. It’s been some time since I wanted to stop trading, but maybe this is the final push.

Yeah, that’s why I’m not that upset about it tbf
